Howdy, Partners!

It's National Dog Day, however, here, we don’t need a holiday to know dogs are somethin’ special. We’ve seen it on the range-mud on their paws, wind in their ears, and that look that says, “I’m with you, no matter where this path leads us.”

They don’t ask for much. Just a spot by your side, a steady voice, and maybe a bite of whatever’s in that ol' saddlebag. It's a kind of love that sticks tighter than burrs on a blanket.

So here’s to them trail dogs, porch dogs, and the ones who’ve seen the sun set and still keep trottin’.

You don’t need a pedigree to matter around these parts. You just need heart, grit, and a tail that knows how to wag through the hard parts.

Howdy, Partners!

Today is International Blind Dog Day, so we tip our hats to the dogs (and cats) who see the world a little differently-and love it just the same.

At Rowdy Paws, we’ve learned that vision doesn’t always come from the eyes. It comes from trust, grit, and a nose that knows exactly where the treat jar is.

And it ain’t just the pups. We’ve got cats here too-quiet, confident, and navigating the lodge like they built it. Sight or no sight, they move with purpose and a whole lotta attitude.

To every blind pet out there: you remind us daily that love don’t need a roadmap, and courage doesn’t ask for perfect conditions.

We see you-pun intended, and we ain’t apologizin’ for it. We celebrate you. And we will have soft beds, a steady hand, and a voice that says, “you’re home.”

Big tip of my hat to the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences as they saddle up for another school year. 📚 Those Aggies are back in the classroom, learnin’ all the tricks of the trade to keep critters like me feelin’ our best.

The Cat: Mmhmm. Hopefully, they’re also takin’ Advanced Nap Disturbance Avoidance. Very important skill when dealin’ with me.

Sheriff Rowdy Paws: Whether it’s patchin’ up bumps, soothin’ sore paws, or keepin’ whiskers in fine form, they’ve got a mighty important job ahead.

The Cat: Yes, yes, heal the dogs, tend to the horses… but start with me.

Howdy, Partners!

It’s back-to-school time, which means the little cowpokes are hittin’ the books, and your four-legged folks are wonderin’ who’s gonna toss the ball all day. 🎒

The Cat here: Wonderin’? Speak for yourself, Rowdy. I’ve been waitin’ all summer for this. No sticky hands in my fur. No loud “look at me” tricks. Just… quiet.

Sheriff Rowdy: Well, some of us like the commotion, Cat. I miss my pint-sized posse. Guess I’ll just have to round up some fun here at the Rowdy construction site in the meantime.

The Cat: You do that. I’ll be in my sunbeam, practicing my “do not disturb” face.

Howdy, Humans.

Looks like the cat room’s comin’ along nice and quiet-plumb far from where them dogs’ll be bunkin’. Ain’t no way I’ll be lodgin' near all that doggone noise. Dogs holler like they own the place. Amateurs. Me? I keep my pride and my peace. Chase toys? Only if I’m good n' ready. Don’t hold your breath waitin’. And don’t expect a show. I’ll be watchin’ from my perch as always, unbothered and unimpressed. Don't keep those paws rowdy 'cause that means more noise.

The dust is flyin’ and the progress is showin’! Construction’s movin’ right along over at Rowdy Paws Pet Lodge and our neighbors at West Brazos Animal Center.

From the front doors to the back yards, things are shapin’ up mighty fine. The crews are workin’ hard in this Texas heat, makin’ sure every nail, beam, and saloon doors are ready to welcome critters big and small.

This ain’t just a build—it’s a future home for waggin’ tails, happy paws, and top-notch veterinary care. And let me tell ya, we’re gettin’ closer every day.

Big things are comin’ to this little corner of the county. Keep those paws rowdy!

The splash pad’s are comin’ along nice and steady, and we just added a little blue paw print to seal the deal-our official mark of Rowdy approval.

It’s a small touch, but it means a whole lot ’round these parts. Soon enough, your pups will be splashin’ and playin’ in style, right where that paw print’s laid down the law.

Keep your eyes peeled-those cool, wet adventures are rollin’ in faster than a tumbleweed in a Texas breeze. Keep those paws rowdy!

Howdy, Humans.

The Cat here. I am here to inform y’all that has been seized by me. That’s right—after months of secret planning (and knocking important documents off the desk), I have successfully overthrown Sheriff Rowdy Paws and claimed this establishment for the superior species: CATS.

Effective immediately:
🐱 Nap time is mandatory—24 hours a day.
🐱 The "No Dogs on the Counter" rule? Revoked. (But only for cats.)
🐱 Belly rubs are now available by appointment only and will be met with claws or purrs at random.
🐱 The treat jar? Mine now.
🐱 All staff members must acknowledge my greatness with head scratches upon request—or face a lifetime of judgmental stares.

I will consider allowing the dogs back if they acknowledge my reign with proper tribute (tuna, laser pointers, and a throne of freshly folded laundry).

Until then, welcome to The Cats' Pet Kingdom.
