JRS Performance Horses JRS Performance Horses offers rehabilitation, training, and stud services to Bullys Legacy. She has been a professional barrel racer for 15 years.

Jennifer and Ryan Skinner, CF, APF, have a passion for starting young horses with a quiet and gentle, yet confident, hand. With a combined 40 years in a variety of aspects in the equine industry, they are capable of giving young horses a good all-around foundation suitable for whatever discipline they head into. Jennifer has been riding horses since she was a young girl, and became serious about b

arrel racing when she was 12. She has been schooled in the art of Dressage, was an assistant trainer in the cutting horse and show horse worlds, and was an equine veterinary technician, specializing in performance horse lameness, post-surgical care, and radiography, for seven years. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2014 with a BS in Animal Science - equine production. Ryan, owner of Skinner Farrier Services, has 20+ years of experience in therapeutic podiatry and performance horse shoeing, and is currently working on becoming a Certified Journeyman Farrier in the American Farriers Association. In addition to his farrier knowledge, he has SHOT show, working cow horse, and roping experience. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999 with a degree in Agricultural Economics, and took many classes toward getting his masters in equine reproduction. Their combined knowledge of training and riding performance horses, competition, therapy and rehabilitation, and equine physiology and reproduction have enabled them to create a top-notch, full spectrum equine facility. They have also been able to create and nurture a large network of equine-focused individuals and businesses, which is the foundation for their equine marketing. High quality technology and knowledge of pedigrees, conformation, and movement allow them to properly train, prepare, and showcase horses for sale - their own and their clients. Draggin' S Arena and Stables, where JRS Performance Horses calls home, has a main barn with eleven 12' x 12' stalls, each with a covered 12' x 24' run. The main barn also has a set of stocks and a concrete wash rack. The property has a 60' round pen and an 85' x 100' cutting pen that are both lighted for nighttime use. The 165' x 250' roping sized arena also has lighting, a sound system, and boasts a Prefert roping chute. The arena is worked with a Revel 4N1 drag. The property also has multiple wooded acres and a creek, perfect for trail riding and photography backgrounds. Draggin' S Arena and Stables is conveniently located on OSR, between Highway 21 and Highway 6. Only 4.5 miles from Texas Equine Hospital, the Skinners have maintained a great working relationship with the doctors and staff at the vet clinic. Draggin' S is only 8 miles from the Brazos Valley Expo Center and within 15 minutes of three feed stores. The Skinners are just as passionate about their family as they are horses. Their seven kids can often be found out in the barn, on a pony, or helping at the shoeing truck.

Meet Trojan, 7yr 16.0hh TB type gelding. Trojan has spent the last year in training and rehab at JRS Performance horses becoming a reliable and capable partner. Trojan has shown some good promise to become a nice sport horse as he is wiling and bold with 3 light and quality gaits. He has been free jumped to 3ft and done cross rails under saddle. He is learning about connection and roundness while maintaining rhythm and relaxation. Trojan would do best for an intermediate rider as he has a performance horse mentality meaning he is light and responsive and takes even light ques pretty literally. He would love to be in a program where an experienced trainer in dressage and/or jumping could over see his progression and help see him and his new partner reach his big potential. His adopter should be advised he is a cribber and does better in a pasture due to this habit. He has had a couple things done as of vet maintenance and these things can be discussed with Jennifer Skinner, his trainer. In the beginning of his journey with us he was a bit of a nut to crack but once we found out all that he needed from us to get his body back on track he has really bloomed to show us he has great potential. We are happy to present him at the 2025 Bluebonnet Expo to try to find that home that can really take him and go do the cool things we know he is capable of.

So proud of Bullys Legacy for bringing home the win this past weekend! 💪🏼🥇

A little throw back to Marshall’s first show back in May and our team’s first time to a United Dressage & Jumping Club show down at Great Southwest Equestrian Center. Marshall jumped around like a pro and brought home some pretty ribbons! Since then he’s be schooling at home and attend a few more schooling shows and is gearing up for his first recognized horse trial soon. 💪🏼🔜

JRS Performance Horses had a great outing to the CT/Derby and HDS horse show at the Snowdonia Sporthorse Complex this past weekend! ChaCha and Aria put in some lovely tests in the HDS training level dressage divisions and Marshall and Ace competed in the beginner novice derby.

Thank you Jayne Lloyd for putting on these shows! They are a great outing for our horses. 🥰

Love this horse. ❤️ He truly is one of a kind!

We took some youngsters schooling at Pine Hill the other day and had a great time!

This was Marshall's first time on the cross country course and he acted like he had been there 100 times! Marshall is a 5yr old son of Bullys Legacy, and just like his Dad he makes every ride a fun one.

Marshall is also in the market for his next loving home to bring him up the levels. 🙋‍♀️ Message us with any inquiries.

Jets in Traffic is a lovely 5yr old APHA/AQHA gelding. This stunning dappled buckskin, lovingly referred to as Tex, stands 15.2hh and is the kind that can partner with an amateur or Junior, while also being athletic and talented enough a professional could have a good time bringing him along. He has three lovely gaits that would receive great marks in the dressage arena. He has been started over fences he shows great scope and is smart with his feet and eager to please. He is ready to go into his next program and begin his show career. He has spent these first formative years being rode out and about, hauled and seen busy warm up arenas, rode western, swung ropes and drug logs then he has been started in dressage, and over fences and schooled cross country. He handles anything the day might bring! He is on track to begin showing this fall in whatever arena his person might choose.
