Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary

Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary We are a dog boarding/daycare and a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that rescues homeless, abandoned & neglected dogs.

We rehabilitate these animals and prepare them for adoption. Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary is a full pet service. We offer boarding, daycare, grooming and training. Proceeds from all pet services go towards the care of our rescue dogs and cats, maintaining our sanctuary, and funding our rescue. We operate our pet service and rescue out of our 2.75 acre property called Buckeye's Sanctuary. The s

anctuary serves as a home for our rescue dogs until they find their forever families. We also have cats in our rescue, but they are in foster homes across Northeast, Ohio. Buckeye was a homeless dog rescued from the Cleveland Animal Care and Control on November 15th, 2014. He was loved by his family but unfortunately passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart condition on May 7th 2015. His family started this project as a promise and commitment to Buckeye to rescue homeless dogs. To read more about Buckeye, please visit our website. If you would like to view our rescue pets, there are many opportunities to do so. We are active on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We also participate in adoption sites such as: Adopt a Pet, Pet Finder, and All Paws. Those gorgeous blue eyes ... and that beautiful face ... There is no denying Ms Maisy is stunning! And the best part? Her personality is as sweet as she looks ❤Maisy likes strangers right away, after a quick sniff. With people she already knows, Maisy is ridiculously cute! She likes to lean in against you when you're sitting down. Sometimes, she likes to place her paw on your hand. Like holding hands. Too cute! She likes to follow you around. Sometimes she gets silly and hops and skips around trying to get you in the mood to play. If you do, she'll take off running, egging you on to chase. It's game on. She is in full play mode. Maisy isn't too crazy about toys. She shows interest in them only when you indicate that you want to play with her, otherwise, nay, they don't excite her. Maisy is wonderful with most dogs. She does well with high energy, playful dogs. Watch and moderate their play as Maisy can get a little mouthy or jumpy when excited 😉 Maisy admits she is not the best walking on a leash, but she is working on being better! She is just too excited to be somewhere 😊

Maisy is 10 months old, 55lb Shepherd Husky mix. She is looking for an active home. A home with a high energy doggo playmate would be awesome as Maisy is a go go go kinda girl. No dogs in the house? That's ok. Maisy will take high energy teenagers! Those who like running, adventurous, outdoor stuff will make her very happy. Nothing makes Maisy happier than to be involved in activities with her family. Maisy is crate and house trained. She is a champ for car rides!

Oh, my heart be still! One look at this gorgeous hunk and I am smitten😍 It is hard to take my eyes off him. He is just a fine specimen! And his personality? Let me tell you all about Goliath. This incredibly charming boy is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. He knows just how to look at you with those puppy dog eyes and that handsome face and get away with things. He doesn't know his size but thinks nothing of jumping on you to greet you and to give kisses. And what do you do? You take the hugs and the kisses wholeheartedly because seriously who can say no to that face? If you are sitting on the floor, he may lay on you with his 90lb weight. As much as you are gasping for air, you give in and hug him with all your might because that is what you do when you are gifted with a lush teddy bear! Toys? Boy, does he love toys. He acts like a little kid. He brings you toys and expects you to play with him. He doesn't seem to guard them. He gives a little rumble if he is fully engrossed in the toy, and you approach. Even though it is the Rottie rumble, we still strongly advise you not to remove anything from him without an exchange of another toy or treats. Walks, ugh walks. Goliath is a horrible walker on a leash. He likes to grab his leash to walk himself. Don't try to stop him because at a strong 90lb, he may just yank you down. If you were me, you'd land on your butt with a loud thud and a sore butt. Goliath thinks it is just the funnest thing to do. He then struts around with the leash in his mouth like he is the s*** Talk about a boy with a personality and a half! But no worries, our amazing trainer is working with him on how to walk like a gentleman :) Goliath is wonderful with dogs. He loves them all. Boys, girls, big, small. Doesn’t give 2 s***s if a rowdy dog is screaming at him. He goes about his business like the dog is invisible.

Goliath is 4 years old (but acts like he is 6 months old). He is looking for a family who loves to engage in activities with him. Plays, runs, walks, hikes, anything. He is people oriented. He loves to be surrounded by people. If you gush over him, that may give you an edge over the other members of the family :) Goliath is crate trained, appears house trained. He is a grazer. Hardly finished his meals in one setting.

Handsome boy Finn has everything going for him! Great looks with an awesome personality to match. He is just a happy boy! He skips around joyfully to find a gullible human to plop himself down for hugs and cuddles. Belly rubs are great also 😊10/10 times, the human willingly obliges. How could you not with that look? He gets so happy sometimes, he does the zoomies. He runs around in circles as fast as his little legs would let him. Sometimes, he dares you to match him zoomie for zoomie. And of course, you oblige. Finn loves people. Any chance he gets, he wants to sit close to you, sometimes on your feet. He leans even closer if you pet him, occasionally looking up at you as if to say, ‘thank you for the pets!’. Finn is friendly with dogs. He is very interested in what they are doing. On a walk, if he sees a dog approaching, he sits and waits to see what they are doing or going to do. He doesn’t bark or lunge, just sit and watch 😊If he is lounging with you and he sees a dog approach, he gets up to go see what that dog is up to. You can say Finn is quite nosy and the grass is greener kinda of guy. POV someone is having more fun than he is 😅 Finn doesn’t seem interested in toys but will play for 5 minutes if you engage him.

Finn is 4 years old, 40lb Goldendoodle. He is looking for a home where he can get a lot of attention and affection. Finn is super affectionate. A home with older children is preferred as random and quick movements makes him nervous.
