Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary

Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary We are a dog boarding/daycare and a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that rescues homeless, abandoned & neglected dogs.

We rehabilitate these animals and prepare them for adoption. Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary is a full pet service. We offer boarding, daycare, grooming and training. Proceeds from all pet services go towards the care of our rescue dogs and cats, maintaining our sanctuary, and funding our rescue. We operate our pet service and rescue out of our 2.75 acre property called Buckeye's Sanctuary. The s

anctuary serves as a home for our rescue dogs until they find their forever families. We also have cats in our rescue, but they are in foster homes across Northeast, Ohio. Buckeye was a homeless dog rescued from the Cleveland Animal Care and Control on November 15th, 2014. He was loved by his family but unfortunately passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart condition on May 7th 2015. His family started this project as a promise and commitment to Buckeye to rescue homeless dogs. To read more about Buckeye, please visit our website. If you would like to view our rescue pets, there are many opportunities to do so. We are active on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We also participate in adoption sites such as: Adopt a Pet, Pet Finder, and All Paws. You can also email us to ask us about what dogs and cats we have up for adoption and set up an appointment to meet one of our rescue pups or kitties: [email protected]

This kid is a ‘clown’! An adorable one! ❤ Hops’ classic move is standing on his back legs, his front legs swinging up and down as if saying in classic Hops style ‘Me! Me! Me!’ 😀 Too dang cute and adorable ❤ Hops never pass up on an opportunity to get attention. He eats that up. He is the life of a party, any party! He is a bit of a rough player. He likes to rile up Stoli, get him going but Stoli is smart. He just ignores Hops. Hops is wonderful with all dogs and loves all the humans. Hops loves to run full speed towards you and when just a mere inch in front of you, he suddenly flops down on his back, exposing his belly for belly rubs. He also has a love relationship with grass. He loves to roll on his back. Hops needs a fenced yard. He has a knack for adventure. He looks underneath the fence as if seeing if there are escape routes to crawl underneath.

Hops is 2 years old, 12lb miniature Poodle mix. He is looking for a home where he can get all the attention his little heart desires. Going places with his humans because he is cute and he needs to be seen :D He would be ecstatic if he and his bestie Stoli, can be adopted together. Hops is not for apartment living. He can be a barker when he wants attention 🥹

Like the fun and happy times that come with enjoying this high-quality vodka, Stoli the doggo is exactly that ❤. Never a dull moment in his companion, Stoli keeps you grinning and smiling as you watch him do his cute little zoomies in the yard, always checking in to make sure that you are having just as good a time as he is. In between his silly sprints around the yard, Stoli comes up to you, puts his paws on you and occasionally, plants kisses on you. This is when Hops injects himself in the mix, not wanting to miss out on anything. Stoli ignores him for the most part but sometimes, Stoli has enough of Hops’ silly antics and gives him a warning growl to go away. Brothers :D Stoli is certainly the more affectionate and calmer of the two. Stoli slows down to bond with his humans. Hops is too busy being a clown. Stoli lets out cute, silly grumbles when he plays with furry friends.

Stoli is a 2-year-old, 10lb Papillon mix. He is looking for a family who can give him the best of both worlds – silly romps in the yard, walks and cuddles. He would be ecstatic if he and his bestie Hops could be adopted together. Stoli is not a candidate for apartment living. He barks when he wants attention.

Jägermeister - We all know what downing a Jägermeister does to you 😊 Get drunk crazy and just let the good times roll! This Jägermeister has that effect on his humans ❤ Hanging out with him got me all giddy and lightheaded with his love ❤ Jager is so affectionate with his humans. He likes to leap onto your lap and park himself there until you beckon for him to get off. Not a peep from him while you busy yourself with WFH crap, binging TSITP or just sitting outside on your patio enjoying a glass of wine. He will quietly observe the world with you. When you are ready to take a break from these, he flops on his side or back to give you full access for pets and belly rubs. He lies there like that for as long as you are petting him. That is how Jager rolls. He loves, loves affection and engagement from his humans. You see the squinty eyes and the half smiles. You know he is absolutely on cloud 9 with all the attention. Jager loves walks. He walks nicely on a leash, no pulling, just a nice trot. He is great meeting dogs of all sizes on his walks 😊

Jager is a year old, 12lb Shih Tzu. He is looking for a home where he can be the center of your world, pets, cuddles and kisses galore, toted along everywhere. Resident dog(s) are welcome.

Imagine spending your time with a handsome, unassuming older gentleman who listens quietly to all your bitching, vents, complaints, and when you are done, he looks adoringly at you as if to say, ‘everything is going to be ok, honey’.❤ Wow. That would be quite amazing. Joey doesn’t hold back. He adores his humans, and he lets you know it. If you want to just sit quietly and absorb yourself in your favorite activities, he will sit with you quietly and keep you company. If you want to take a little stroll, Joey will be the first one to lead you to the door. Joey loves his walks. He pulls a little at the beginning from excitement but eases into a nice pace as the walk progresses. Joey loves to smell everything along his path. He likes to know who has been there before him. He then leaves his business cards to let others know ‘Joey was here’. 😀

Joey is 11 years old, 15lb Yorkshire Terrier mix. He may be 11 but Joey is healthy and still has a lot of pep left in his steps! He is looking for a family he could spend the rest of his life with. Quiet, relaxing time on couches (or laps) walks, car rides will make Joey quite happy. Resident dog(s) welcome. Joey is honestly just perfect!

Get past Blitz’s initial hesitation to meet strangers and you will be rewarded with the most precious personality! Instead of the ‘I’m going to hide here and low growl because I don’t know who you are’, you will see Blitz at his truest and goofiest. Most days he struts around like a doofy giant. Not a single thought in his head. Except when the treats are out. It appears that suddenly, his brain cells decide to generate and multiply. Blitz miraculously becomes sharp as a tool. He loves to train. He listens to everything well. Despite his love for treats, he takes them gently. Blitz also loves toys. He has a big jolly ball (and a rope toy) that he likes to carry around when he is not playing with furry friends. No toy or food guarding has been observed with him. Blitz is a total turd with fellow canines. He is an instigator. He likes to chicken peck at the side of a dog’s face or neck to rile them up. Total puppy play, not a shred of meanness. He then takes off running, looking back to see if they chase him. That said, if he is being too much, he listens right away if you call him off. Blitz walks awful on a collar, but wonderful on a harness. Blitz is crate trained.

Blitz is a 2-year-old, 100lb+ Cane Corso. He is looking for a family who could continue to build up his confidence around strangers and introduce him to the world, so that it doesn’t seem like a scary, fearful place. Blitz was under socialized in his previous home. An adult only with a resident dog(s) household is most ideal for Blitz.
