Fauna was fostered in NC by a deeply caring, dog savvy, honest woman who has shared details about her personality along with the most precious photos. You can see for yourself how lovely she is!!

Fauna didn’t have any accidents at her house and is good with dogs & cats!!. Fauna’s previous foster, Nicole Depauw, can tell you details since she got to know her well. If you are wondering why she didn’t keep Fauna herself, since she is so great, it’s because Nicole fosters as a way to save lives. Fauna was in a shelter that sadly has had to euthanize dogs and Fauna needed out quickly!!! Nicole also adds to her family when a dog has special needs and can’t be placed. Fortunately, Fauna is super adoptable!! Trust me, its a labor of love to see them off and it pulls at every heart string imaginable.

Fauna is a sweet love 💗 . A calm, knowledgeable hound lover would be ever so lucky to welcome such a special girl.

Who remembers Gracie?.. The adorable Beagle who was surrendered back to the farm after 5.5 years 🤬.

My post about Maggie has prompted several loyal followers and friends to ask about Gracie. Bless all of you who care and remember her. Gracie found her REAL forever home soon after she was surrendered. After she was home, a total of 3 different individuals reached out (one neighbor as recently as two weeks ago) providing me with information about Gracie and her “owner”. It turns out that her previous owner lied to me ... even signed surrender paper work stating that Gracie had never been aggressive or bitten and that all the information about her past had been shared with Martin's Dog Farm. It wasn’t.

Gracie did have a bite history. She also had “p*ed all over” the house. I had already placed Gracie using the lies I had been told. Obviously, I immediately reached out to the new owners and shared all
I had learned. Guess what they said?? “We love Gracie and will work her through her issues. It will take time and love, so that’s what we will give her!”

Full disclosure: I didn’t post anything about Gracie because I wasn’t able to type things out in a professional way. My four letter word filter was nonexistent, then. I prefer to put my energies into the incredible people who love ❤️ Gracie now. Today she had little pancakes, with her siblings, as a treat and didn’t have a single p*e p*e accident when they left her alone for several hours!!!! They have been working hard to get her to a point where they can leave for longer than quick trips to the store. Their incredible devotion is so special and I believe Gracie’s former owner didn’t deserve her.

Look at Maggie rockin’ her retail store threshold fears. It’s the smart ones who over process everything. We sat outside this store for 10 minutes while Maggie took everything in, including the hydraulic thingy that keeps the door from slamming. Dog breeds are beyond fascinating to me! The retriever in her makes much of her fixations up above.. you know, like birds. The magical part is when they get over the hump and realize that the weird metal bird (hydraulic door opener) in the doorway is just gonna stay there all day, every day and that’s ok. 😁

You know the phrase, “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”.....???....

Well, I think we often provide help and attention to surrendered pets (as we should), but what about those who are going to all extremes to help their animals, would never ask for help but REALLY could use it!?!

Wilson, also known as His Royal Highness - Lord Wilson ❤️, was here on the farm for a few weeks along with his puppy siblings. He is Sadie’s brother. He also has issues with anxiety, but unlike Sadie he didn’t respond favorably to Prozac. Wilson also has something else going on and has his incredibly detailed and caring Vet totally stumped.

Last week Wilson’s blood was sent off to Michigan State to do an extensive endocrine panel. Wilson is gaining weight despite a meticulously portioned out homemade, lean protein diet. His issues might be stemming from his pituitary glad. At this point they are running every test possible to get to the route of his crippling anxiety and weight gain.

Wilson is loved beyond belief. His parents are doing everything they possibly can to help him and I want to try to help THEM! They would never ask for a fundraiser, but I know the diagnostics will run them in the thousands after all is said and done. It’s been over a year since they started trying to figure out what is going on with Wilson. Their commitment is heartwarming.
