UPDATE! (Lengthy post ahead)
Well it seems the world wanted to give us more lemons so we could make THEE sweetest lemonades… Long story summarized, yes we had a planned litter for this spring/summer, that did not go as planned and here is why.
Our stud dog Roscoe suffered a stroke while we were away on vacation the end of February. He was housed at his regular and favorite boarding facility when he started having cluster seizures. Thanks to their fast actions he was brought to a local veterinarian and then transferred to a 24 hour care facility so he could be cared for and monitored.
After many many many tests during his stay and for several weeks after his discharge; being seen by an internal medicine team and a neurologist; MRI’s, spinal taps, full body ultrasounds, radiographs you name it this boy has had it! The conclusion was he had higher than normal blood pressure readings which likely resulted in a vessel breaking in his brain causing the stroke causing the seizures. OOFTDA! This poor boy!
While these events are NOT genetic or hereditary in any means, we have decided to retire Roscoe at 4.5 years old and focus on his upcoming tests and keeping this huge boy happy and healthy! He has been seizure free since the event and has had ZERO complications from his stroke! What a BOSS!
We had planned and picked out the perfect female (Rayna) to accommodate Roscoe’s attributes and had waited several years so we are super bummed that this won’t be the start of our program at BCGD’s but it won’t be the end of us either! 😉
Thank you for all the messages, inquires and support and stay tuned for all our adventures! 🐾🐾
