To all the families who adopted kittens, adult cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, puppies, turtles, hamsters, and a few birds, we thank you! To all those who supported our dog wash fundraisers, bought raffle tickets, donated supplies, baked delicious dog treats, and generally cheered us on, we thank you so much! To our wonderful foster families - the Bowmans and Carol Mentzer -who cared for kittens when we "overflowed" and needed more hands on deck, we couldn't have done it without you!

After 15 years, we are closing our rescue. We estimate we have cared for well over 400 animals who needed help, and the loving people who adopted them into their families are heroes to us! So many memories: all the laughter, too many tears, loss of sleep, delivering kittens for a Christmas surprise, visiting nursing homes to spread some love, taking pictures pictures pictures, adoption day joy! Student visitors, school seminars, take-a-kitten-to-class day, bottle feeding....LOTS of bottle feeding! Dog washes (the hair left behind is not to be believed!!!) To all our Rescue families who have given "our babies" loving homes where they can enjoy a beautiful festive holiday! We're thinking of you as you decorate for Christmas because we know if there's one thing that kittens and cats LOVE, it's Christmas! They love the enticing sparkle of ornaments, the crinkle of wrapping paper as their claws puncture a present, and the thrill of climbing their pretty new tree toy. **We are posting Oscar for a partner rescue** Looking for a home for Oscar. She is 13 years old and her dad is in hospice. She is friendly but takes a little time to warm up. She has never shared a home with other pets, so a home with only her or an experienced pet owner who could slowly and carefully introduce her to another pet is needed. **ADOPTED** This sweet boy, Boots, is still waiting for his forever family! He is in a loving foster home but really really wants his very own family to love and play with. He is full of kitten mischief and loves romping around and playing with his toys. He follows his foster mom around like a dog, just waiting for her to pet him or throw one of his toys or maybe sneak a treat. A little kitten cuteness for this beautiful Tuesday night: meet Boots! He's the brother of Biscuit, Gravy & Blaze! Boots is a little smaller than his brothers but he's been eating and growing and he's now ready to find his own home! From his precious face to his wiggly tail, Boots is one sweet playful kitten. He is a little shy but very affectionate. He loves companionship and is happiest with "his people". (This dear little guy cries when he's alone so he'll need a family who wants him around!!) Lots of adoption news today! Darlene came to us with bleeding burned paws and very scared. We don't know what happened but her story quickly got much better! She's been adopted already to a lovely home where she will be spoiled and loved and pampered. Darlene is livin' the life! Also little Blaze is off to his own wonderful home! ** Biscuit & Gravy are adopted!** What’s sweeter than an 8-week-old kitten? FOUR eight-week-old kittens!! This litter of brothers came to us when their lives were in danger following discovery in a window well. They made the transition from survival mode outside to a life of pampering, spoiling and fun living inside! They are a rambunctious but (kind of) mannerly tribe and will bring much life and many laughs to their new families! These boys are all negative for FIV/AIDS, current on vaccinations, and have a clean bill of health. They’re ready to meet their new families and get going with some serious playtime! **ADOPTED** Handsome Jason is looking for a home to call his own! Jason and his brother were dropped off at the office a few months ago, scared, skinny and petrified to be inside a cage. With much patience & kindness, one of our staff members fostered them and day by day showed them it was alright to trust people. Jason has gone from a scared “pancake” kitten to a gorgeous, super sweet 1 year old cat. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and ready for his own family to love. Jason is shy at first, so his new family will need to give him some time to get comfortable. He enjoys being gently petted, and has a loud, unstoppable purr that shows how much he wants to be loved. A home with other animal friends would be perfect for him as they give him confidence in his surroundings (and he loves to play!). Because he is a little shy, a home with no small children would be best. If you are able to give Jason the time to bloom into the fabulous cat he is meant to be, please call the office today to meet him! We’re excited to share that Bandit and Benjie have been adopted…together! These brothers will live happily with their new human, dog & cat siblings so they will always have plenty of playmates! They are settling in well and have claimed the family cat condo as their new playground. Bandit is developing into a snuggle bug, while Benjie seems to be the explorer. The boys will be cherished members of their families forever and we’re so happy for them!
