I Love Every Dog celebrates dogs every day. This time, we celebrate the heroes who save dogs and other pets daily. In appreciation of the life-saving work of animal rescues, in partnership with Animal Actions, we will donate up to $10,000 to the winning animal rescue, determined by random draw—the more entries a rescue generates, the greater their chance of winning!

Rabbits are the 3rd most surrendered pets in the US. They are often purchased on impulse without understanding their complex needs. 90% of rabbits purchased on Easter do not live to see their 1st birthday. Rabbits aren’t #1 in sheer volume of surrenders, but they are one of the most neglected and misunderstood pets—and one of the least protected in terms of laws, funding, and public awareness.

Help RMHRR take a stance and take the lead on a chance to win a 10,000 giveaway to go towards the 100+ rescue rabbits in our care!

Wren and Jay arrived at our rescue as a sweet, inseparable pair transferred from an overcrowded shelter. Jay, with his confident hops and curious nose boops, brought a sense of calm wherever he went. Wren, more cautious and unsure, followed closely behind him — always watching, always learning.

It was clear these two had a strong bond, but before they could settle into a forever home, they needed a little TLC — and a big step in their health journey: a spay and neuter.

Because Wren and Jay were both recently fixed, our team made the difficult decision to temporarily separate them. Post-surgery, rabbits can be sensitive, and hormones can run high. To ensure a safe and healthy recovery for both bunnies — and to protect their bond in the long run — they were given their own recovery spaces with lots of soft bedding, gentle check-ins, and plenty of treats.

Jay handled the time apart like a champ, always keeping an ear turned toward Wren’s enclosure. Wren, meanwhile, used the time to decompress and build a little confidence of her own. She began greeting volunteers at the door and even started doing little happy flops in her pen — a big sign that she was starting to feel safe.

After a few weeks, when their bodies had healed and their hormones had settled, it was time for their reunion. The moment Wren and Jay saw each other again, it was like no time had passed. Jay rushed over and began grooming Wren’s ears, and Wren leaned right into him with a soft sigh — a clear sign of love and relief.

Now happily back together, Wren and Jay are stronger than ever. Their time apart helped them heal, both physically and emotionally, and reminded us all how deep a bunny bond can go. These two are ready for their next chapter — together, forever.
