Franklin County Indiana Humane Society

Franklin County Indiana Humane Society We are a 501.c.3 nonprofit volunteer organization providing assistance for needy animals in FC. We'd love to have you join us.

We are proud to be Franklin County's oldest nonprofit group working on the behalf of area animals. Our volunteers have been working together with the community since 1976 to provide a better outcome for the stray animals who make their way to our area shelter and rescues. Our building doubles as a site for THREE low-cost/high quality spay/neuter transports and for adoption events. The focus of our

organization is to reduce the number of animals born in Franklin County, to improve the outcome of those who make their way to the shelters, and to provide educational resources to the community we share. Since we receive NO county funding, fundraising and donations are how we keep our doors open. Your financial support goes 100% to support our mission since we have NO paid employees. Volunteers who have a heart for helping animals are always welcome!❤

Thanks to our community for the continued donation of aluminum cans! Our awesome volunteers recycled 345 pounds last week. 💰 The money from this recycling each month helps keep our doors open and lights on. And the added bonus of keeping those cans out of landfills is great too! 🚮🌎❤️🌎

It’s kitten season. We know people want to help! So the question is, “What should you do if you find kittens?” Here are some great graphics from Scooter The Neutered Cat with helpful information.

If the kittens are in an unsafe location or you have room in your home (and heart) — foster the cats! The most important things are:

1: Keeping mama and kittens together until they're weaned at 6–8 weeks.

2: Getting them spayed and neutered.

We have options for upcoming spay/neuter clinics so reach out to us!
