It’s that time of the year again! Come visit our booth this Sunday, 5/18, for the annual 5th Avenue Fair! Brushing your dog’s teeth is vital to prevent dental disease, bad breath, and health issues like infections that can affect the heart, liver, and kidneys. Aim to brush daily, or at least 2–3 times a week, using dog-specific toothpaste. Regular care helps avoid costly vet treatments and keeps your dog healthy and comfortable.

The Airedale Terrier originated in the Aire Valley of Yorkshire, England, in the mid-19th century, developed by crossing the Otterhound with smaller terriers to create a versatile hunting dog. Initially called the “Waterside Terrier” or “Bingley Terrier,” the breed was used for hunting otters and rats along rivers, as well as for farm work and guarding. By the early 20th century, Airedales had gained popularity as police, military, and companion dogs worldwide due to their intelligence, courage, and adaptability.

Ear hair plucking is somewhat controversial. Plucking can irritate the skin inside the ear and sometimes worsen inflammation if done too frequently or improperly. Not every dog needs it done.
