We are still smiling thinking about the amazing weekend we had here at Paws & Whiskers with all our furry lodgers! From big outdoor play dates to making brand-new best friends, the energy was paws-itively infectious! 🎾✨

Leaving your pets behind is never easy, but at Paws & Whiskers Resort, we make it our mission to ensure they feel right at home. Our "lodgers" are treated like family and loved just like our very own. From morning snuggles to evening play, we cherish every moment with them.

🌞🐾 Keeping our Furry Friends cool & safe during this Heat Wave! 🐾🌞

Michigan is currently under heat advisory‼️
Here’s how we ensure our pups stay comfortable and happy during extreme heat:

💧Hydration Station: Fresh water is always available! We refresh their personal water bowls every hour inside. In the dog park, we refresh a water bowl every hour for dogs stepping out for potty breaks!
🐶 Paw-sitive Playtime: We schedule outdoor play and longer potty breaks for early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are cooler. From 10am-7pm, potty breaks are quick & effective only.
🧊 Chill Out Zones: Our facility is climate-controlled with cool concrete floors the dogs love to sprawl out on, and multiple fans going 24/7 to keep them comfortable indoors.
🌊 Splash Fun: We have a kiddie pool set up for some splashing fun all summer long — our lodgers love to cool off in the water!
❄️ Frozen Treats: We make tasty frozen treats with peanut butter and yogurt to help them cool down. We offer ice cubes as well for a lighter frozen snack😉

🚩Watch for signs of heat exhaustion in your dogs:
-Excessive panting & rapid breathing
-Thick, sticky drool (or increased salivation)
-Bright red, pale, or purplish gums
-Lethargy, weakness, stumbling, vomiting, confusion, disorientation, muscle tremors.
