Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) is committed to serving both pet and parent, finding homes for animals that were once lost, left behind and forgotten, while bringing harmony and enhancing education in our community. Midwest Animal Rescue & Services™ (MARS) is a dedicated and passionate group who rescues dogs and cats that are at risk and homeless through no fault of their own. Once in our care, these companion animals are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Special attention is provided for those animals that need additional time and medical care before going to a new home. MARS is committed to helping pets in need whenever possible, including all breeds and ages. MARS does not have a shelter facility for boarding. We are a foster-based rescue group that runs on the support and aid of dedicated volunteers and supporters. Our fostered pets live in homes, as family members, receiving all of the love and care they would in an adoptive home, until they are adopted. The adopters gain greater insight into the pets’ behavior and personality versus interacting with an animal who has been living in a kennel and the pet is more prepared for a loving home life. This helps produce the best match possible for the new families, resulting in a 98% success rate! Let us help you find the perfect match! MARS is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Ollie update!! And yes, he is doing GREAT. 😁

His family says he’s busy running, playing, roughhousing with his big sister, licking his brother’s head, and fully settling into the good life
He loves cuddling, sunbathing, watching birds and wildlife out the window, and snuggling up with his family at night.

Basically… Ollie is booked and busy being loved. 💙

Today is the last day of the Menards Maplewood Donation Drive! - If you have items to drop off, today is the day. 💙

We are so grateful to Menards Maplewood for hosting this drive, and to everyone who has donated supplies for the pets in our care.

Needed items include:
• Dog & puppy food
• Cat & kitten food
• Leashes, slip leads & collars
• Bully sticks
• Paper towels
• Potty pads
• Soft treats
• Copy paper

Every donation helps us care for local pets while they wait for their forever homes.

Winnie beat heartworm and found her forever home. 💙

When Winnie came to MARS, her name was Chanice. She arrived needing treatment for heartworm, which is a very treatable disease, but treatment can be expensive, and recovery takes time, patience, and care.

Winnie got all of that with MARS. And now she’s six months in with her adoptive mom, all clear from heartworm, and living the good life.

Patios. Coffee shop trips. Country visits where she can run all day.

This is rescue. - Not always fast. Not always easy. But so, so worth it.

Happy life, Winnie!! We are so proud of you and so thankful for your family. 💙

If you’ve been meaning to grab yours through our Dave & Buster’s fundraiser, this is your reminder. The Power Card pre-sale ends May 31, and 50% of Power Card proceeds go to MARS.

Power Cards can be used for a future Dave & Buster’s visit, whether you join us on June 9 or plan your own game night another day.

Our feline supply shelves are getting very low, and a few bins are just about empty.

We are currently most in need of:
• Cat litter, unscented preferred
• Kitten canned food
• Kitten dry food
• Adult dry cat food
• Senior cat food
• Senior dog food

Donations can be dropped off at or shipped to MARS:

If you’re near the Maplewood Menards this weekend, we’d be so grateful if you’d consider dropping off an item or two for the pets in our care.

Edy needs a foster home TODAY!

She's a young puppy coming back to MARS, and she needs a safe place to land.

Puppies are puppies. Sometimes life changes, sometimes the match is not quite right, and sometimes they just need another chance with a foster who can help them keep learning.

Edy is sweet, young, and still figuring out the world. She needs someone who can give her structure, patience, and a soft place to crash while we help her find her next home.
