Hello SD shed dog family!! Lived here my whole life! We’ve got something great for you all!! We love country living and living in this great state of SD!! I live outside Brookings! Our family with the children have raised up these fabulous potential shed hunters, bird hunters, or family dogs! We have 5 males to go! They need homes! Ready end of week will be 8 weeks old! Rosie is a dark chocolate with drive, determination, and excellence in all she does! She is the one and only Champion level Shed Dog in SD through the UKC Elite Shed Dog Series. She earned 12th place in the Shed Dog Nationals, and she has her Started Title in the HRC. She is eye and hip certified. She has been a guide dog at multiple pheasant lodges and lives to do what retrievers do best!! Rosie: CHSD SHR

Yogi has it all! The looks, the drive, the hard point! He has his Advance Pointing Title in the APLA and his HR title in the HRC. He is clear of all genetic defects through Paw Print Genetics. He will continue to train and run hunt tests this summer. Yogi: APR HR RR

Big thank you to Mid-South Shed Dog Association for hosting another great event. Edward Norys always does an outstanding job. Ed even found a way to bring sunny skies and 67 degree weather today. It was a nice break from the snow and cold. Indy had a great weekend! Saturday Indy earned 2 more passes towards her NASHDA SR. title. She also had a qualifying pass on the Champion UKC course. Sunday Indy found high gear and put down a personal fast time on a UKC champion course. Her fastest time of 3:07. She finished just outside of placing. Hope to see everyone at the Iowa Shed Dogs event later this month! Big thank you to my wife Lindsay Hatcher for helping drive the 1750 mile round trip. She even said she would drive so I could watch the Super Bowl. Thanks you to all the new handlers who came to the event. Great to see more joining the sport.

Indy had a great weekend! Lena earned youth passes on Saturday and Sunday. She even got to see a white deer prior to starting her run on Sunday. Kacie earned 2 youth passes as well. Kacie set a personal fastest time on Sunday with a 2:07.
Indy and Matt Hatcher had good day Saturday placing 2nd. Sunday Indy earned a pass as well.
This weekend Indy earned her champion shed dog title.
This is a very fitting as 1 year ago at FVRC January event she earned her first 2 passes in working class. Thank you to everyone who as help Indy and myself over the last 12 months. Special thanks to Paul Sterud for helping me at my first event and making me feel welcomed. Biggest thanks to my very understanding wife Lindsay Hatcher. She has let me and this crazy puppy travel all over! From Wisconsin to Mississippi, and from Ohio to Kansas. Never once has she told me no.

Getting a late start heading to Kansas. But it was for a good reason. Indy went to Kindergarten! Out daughter Lena got to teach her class about shed antlers and how Indy finds them. The kids and Indy had a great time.

Been awhile since we posted some updates. November as been busy for South Dakota dog members. Dogs can be trained to do multiple sports. Indy Has been enjoying her Saturday hunts the last few weekends. She had been making good friends and making some great retrieves.
Matt and Indy will be back in shed action this weekend as we head to Kansas Shed Dogs event.

I had some people asking about the shed test this weekend, it’s still a go. Rain or snow we will still be running dogs.
