Heat stroke is NO JOKE in our furry friends. Know what to watch out for this summer!

- Walk your pets earlier in the morning or in the evening after dark
- Make sure they have access to water
- Don't leave them outside for extended periods
- Don't leave them in hot cars "just while you run in the store". I've seen too many deaths due to this!
- Keep long haired dogs groomed
- IF IT'S TOO HOT FOR YOUR HANDS IT'S TOO HOT FOR THEIR PAWS

This is the exact reason I recommend to all my clients to trim as close to every 4 weeks as you can! Sometimes pets need even more frequent than that to get the “quicks” (the veins in their nails) to retract so we can get those nails as short as we can.
