Beginner thru Advanced handlers and dogs. Round pen, arena or small pasture areas and some farm type work available. Stay to watch when not working! Watching the other dogs at different levels is very helpful.
Accepting 10 working spots per day, sign up for one day or both days!

Rules for the junior non regular classes below.
No AKC points or titles earned , but some fun awards!

Two age groups, (5yr thru 12yr) and (13yr thru 17yrs)
5yr thru 12yr handlers may have an assistant inside the arena with them and/or a coach assist from outside of the arena.
Judge may also give advice during the run
13yr thru 17yr handlers may have a coach assist from outside of the arena. Judge may also give advice during the run
We will be using the score sheets for A Course Started ducks and sheep
You may use a competitor’s dog, or a trained herding dog not in the competition or if your dog is in training and capable who may use your own dog. Dog, handler and stock safety is of utmost importance. Placement rosettes 1st thru 5th will be awarded for both age groups and participant ribbons past fifth place
Non Regular Junior Sheep runs will follow the regular A Started sheep runs
Non Regular Junior Duck runs will follow the regular A Started duck runs

An older post but true as ever today!
"While watching the road to Rio I had been thinking about how important it is to have people around you who make you strive to be the best you can be, whether training dogs, horses or whatever your passion happens to be. How important to work with those better than you and passionate about what you do, those people will drive you to the top of your abilities. You can't become your best if you allow mediocracy to be the norm. You have to challenge yourself and be among those who are extraordinary. Then hearing about Ms Summits death and following her story it is evident that success comes from great endeavors on both the part of the athletes and the coaches. I hope all of you will find a way to follow your dreams and to be inspired.
