MEET BODHI!

Bodhi came back to us from an unfortunate situation, due to no fault of his own. After getting his health in order and working on some behavioral concerns, it is time for us to start looking for Bodhi’s forever placement. If you are interested, please read entirely to ensure he would be a good fit before reaching out.

About Bodhi: Bodhi is a 5 year old male who is up to date on vaccines/prevention, heartworm negative, microchipped, and intact (but can be neutered prior to placement). Bodhi is a typical male tibetan mastiff - headstrong, independent, and too smart for his own good. Bodhi has been shaved and his coat is currently growing back in. He is both dog and cat friendly (male and female) and currently cohabitating in a house of 8 dogs and three cats. We have been working on training for leash manners, mild food agression, and a strong fear of confinement (crates/kennels). He is non-destructive and will go 8-10 hours alone and free-roaming indoors without issue. Bodhi is very human oriented, food-motivated, and loves being indoors around his people.

Requirements: Bodhi will need a patient home willing to continue to work with him on his unwanted behaviors, preferably with the assistance of a professional trainer. Bodhi will need a home who is willing and able not to crate/kennel him; this unfortunately is a non-negotiable. Bodhi would thrive in a home where humans are present often (ie. works from home or rotates shifts), as he is his happiest self when his people are present. Bodhi deserves a home where he will be inside and part of the family, we do not believe he would do well as a livestock guardian or farm dog. While calm and human oriented, Bodhi is still a typical male Tibetan, and needs an owner who is experienced and comfortable with large headstrong dogs.

Happy snow day from CCM and our crew! Our heelers and Rottweilers had a bit of fun in the snow, but the Tibetans are thriving! The boys are finally learning to play with the pack, and matriarch Chesa is keeping an eye on everyone as they romp around. We hope everyone else is having as much fun as we are!

Update!

Mister Dechen had a meet and greet last night with an absolutely wonderful family, and we think it may be the perfect fit! He showed his tail and didn’t make the sweetest first impression, but we think they could see his fun personality and loving nature through it anyways. They would be a first time tibetan family but seem very well equipped to handle his antics. We are scheduling his neuter and follow up vet visit, then will be doing a final meet and greet at their house to see how he acclimates. We have high hopes for this boy and his potential future family ❤️

Bodhi will eventually be looking for placement as well, but is currently working on some temperamental training to ensure safety for him and his future family.

Time for our official update!

After some thought, we have decided to rename the two boys. They deserve a fresh start and we believe new and fitting names will help represent that. Bronx is now Bodhi, named after a Buddhist monk and the tibetan translation for awakening/enlightment. Dallas is now Dechen, which in Tibet represents great bliss.

Both boys had long travels on top of very drastic life changes, and while stressed and overwhelmed at first, they have became more trusting of us and are starting to open up. Both seem quite ill - vomiting, diarrhea, raspy coughs, open wounds, and severe matting. We will spare the photos, but they have a road to recovery ahead. They have a vet appointment this week to cover their physical health, and we are slowly chipping away at their mats (trying to save what hair we can).

We are thrilled to have them back with us to be able to restore them to their full glory. 🖤🐾

While awaiting the arrival of Bronx and Dallas, I thought it would be fun to see some puppy/adolesence pictures of them both!

Below are photos of ‘Bouy’ now known as ‘Dallas’. Dallas was born in our May 2022 repeat litter between Chesa x Paimon. He is a darker red sable boy with a moderate mane. Many remember he had his eye removed as a puppy due to being injured by a littermate at a very young age. That clearly hasn’t slowed him down!

Below are photos of ‘Casper’ now known as ‘Bronx’. Bronx was born in our October 2021 litter between Chesa x Paimon. He is a light gold sable boy with a very large mane, and heavily resembles our keeper female Samaya.
