Let’s clear up one of the biggest myths in the barrel pen: “Alfalfa makes horses hot.” It doesn’t.

Alfalfa is higher in calories and protein than grass hay, but that doesn’t mean it turns your horse into a fire-breathing dragon. If a horse gets antsy or wild after switching to alfalfa, odds are it’s because:
• They were underfed before and now feel good
• The workload doesn’t match the calories
• They’re not being exercised consistently

Protein doesn’t cause hyper behavior. It’s used for muscle repair and growth, not energy. And the extra calories? That’s only an issue if your horse is sitting around doing nothing all week and then suddenly getting legged up.

Horses need fuel to perform. Alfalfa is packed with digestible fiber, essential nutrients, and it’s gentle on ulcers, making it a great option for performance horses.

These two geldings found a great home before being officially listed! They have a great home with repeat customers and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish in the arena!

We love getting updates on horses we have sold, and love to see them thriving at their new home! 🩷 Scooby has been loving Wyoming and his new family loves him! You might even see him on the rodeo trail this summer. It is so rewarding to see years of hard work pay off, and that is what we strive to do! We want our horses to be versatile and be able to go any direction and have success doing it.

It's a chilly one out there this morning! The snow has stopped and the wind isn't too bad, so it's nice out right? 😅 We are all ready for it to be above freezing this weekend, or at least in the double digits.

Everyone is wintering well and fat and sassy! We will have quite the workout routine this spring getting everyone back in shape but for now they are loving being horses. 🫶🏼 It is so important to give all of your horses some much needed time off. That let's them recharge, grow, and it is so good for their mind!

Tuffy is also loving being spoiled in the c**t pen 😂
