Snake gourd 🐍
They look unique and mystical but they are tender like cucumber. They are indeed same family.
These are usually cultivated in tropical regions. We have short growing season so love to savor this when they are in season!
We can cook the snake gourd. Also can eat fresh.
Peel, remove the seeds if any, dice and sautee with garlic.
In Andhra recipe we add milk to the end and it’s divine! Not this week but we should have it next week if our preorders don’t grab everything.

Andhra style recipe
🥘Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot enough, add mustard seeds and cumin. Wait until the mustard seeds pop up. If you have add curry leaves and garlic.
🥘Now, add chopped onions and green chillies. Sauté until the onions become soft.(optional).
🥘To this add the snake gourd pieces, red chili powder, salt, and turmeric powder. Sauté for a minute. Cover with lid and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
🥘Add milk and cook over medium heat till the vegetable is completely cooked and you get the desired consistency. Adjust salt if required.
🥘Turn off the heat and garnish with finely chopped coriander.
🥘Serve Snake Gourd Curry with rice, bread, roti or paratha.
