We want your recyclables!
The Town of Abingdon, Virginia is offering FREE recycling services during the Earth Day Celebration - April 23.
Accepting:
-Document shredding
- #1 and #2 plastics
-E-Waste will be accepted at 310 Depot Square (between the Arts Depot and Post Office) from 9am-1pm.
E-Waste includes but is not limited to: computers, laptop/desktop monitors, CRT/LCD monitors, hard drives, modems, plug and play devices, keyboards, computer mice, printers/scanners, copiers, routers, telephone equipment, fax machines, answering machines, power backups, power transformers, electronic business equipment, wires, cables, circuit boards, video game systems, DVD/VCR players, CD players, radios, remote controls, calculators, microwave ovens, televisions, small electronic household appliances, etc. Basically, any item that has a power cord or uses batteries is considered e-waste.
*Items NOT included are compressors, refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and other household hazardous materials (batteries, chemicals, petroleum products, fluorescent light bulbs). These items can be taken to MXI Environmental Services during their annual recycling event in May.
