Hello and welcome! My sincere apologies for the delay in responding to many of you. The response to my post on a local community page was overwhelming in the best possible way.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Christopher Young and I am a restaurant owner and professional chef in Brier, WA. Something that most people don't know about me, however, is that I much prefer cooking for my little female Rottweiler, Vita, than for people;)
I got Vita as a baby at 8 weeks, and though she only 4 months old now, I can't imagine a life without her.
One day I was cooking a gourmet dinner for myself at home and watching Vita eat a bowl of the dry kibble I received from the breeder when I got her. Something didn't sit right with me about that. Not only did the kibble look incredibly boring, but as someone with a pretty extensive knowledge of food, I had no idea what my little girl was putting into her body. I tossed out the rest of the dry food, headed to Whole Foods, and have been making her meals individually ever since.
I have a pretty darn good day job, and starting a local dog food business in my limited off time was certainly not in my five-year plan. However, the more time I spent with Vita in the first week of having her home, the more it was impressed into me that I was 100% in control of this little dog's whole world and that I had all the power to give her the kind of life she deserves from the toys she plays with, the parks we visit, the friends she gets to know, and most importantly, her health.
