Today is Giving Day: Learn, and you have the power to help students with disabilities access the tools they need to succeed in school and in life.

This year, we are shining a spotlight on the Assistive Technology and Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) services that Easterseals Massachusetts provides to children and young adults across the state. For many of these students, Assistive Technology is the key to learning, participating, and communicating for the very first time.

These are real needs. Real tools. Real lives changed. And it starts with you. Every gift, no matter the size, plays a vital role in driving meaningful change. To learn more and donate, visit our website: https://bit.ly/3KhO5O1

The SpillNot Plus is a versatile tool designed to prevent spills when carrying beverages. Its one-hand design frees the other hand for a mobility aid or balance support, while the non-slip surface can hold up to four drinks or a large bowl. The device comes in two parts for convenient storage and is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

The SpillNot Plus, along with many other helpful devices, is available for Massachusetts residents to borrow for free for 30 days through our Worcester and Boston MassAbility Assistive Technology Regional Centers.

On Saturday, September 13, ESMA staff representing our Assistive Technology Regional Centers and AT Independent Living Program attended the Spaulding Community Access Day: Wheelchair Skills and Community Connections. We spoke with wheelchair users and their family members about our services and different devices that help increase independence. Our team also demonstrated smart home devices, such as locks and curtain shades, that are activated with voice commands. Spaulding patients learned about Assistive Technology devices that can help them return to their favorite activities, such as gaming with adapted controllers.
