It’s been a busy time at Jambo House. Many hermit crabs have found shelter and healing at the rescue. Thankfully, several crabs have been placed in adoptive homes. It all balances out. ❤️ 🦀

Lots of crabs went to their forever homes over the past few months. 🦀
I’m thankful for adopters who drive sometimes over an hour to adopt from my rescue. Adoptions are necessary so that I can take in new crabs each fall and winter.

The fall is always the season when owners decide they no longer wish to care for their hermit crabs. The poor things come into the rescues dehydrated, stressed and sick.
In the hands of a knowledgeable hermit crab rehabber these creatures have chance at survival.
Here are the 2024 arrivals. They will stay with me for at least a year, usually two, until they are healthy and accomplished at least one molt.

Just some of the friends who have adopted out over the last few months. It is hard to say goodbye to any rescued crab, however, knowing that they are going to homes with proper set ups, and care makes it a little easier.
