Stunning Views Of Blue Lake
This horseback ride takes you up into the Virginia Lakes Canyon where you see stunning views of Blue Lake, you ride right by a historic miner’s cabin, and stop at beautiful Cooney Lake. At Cooney Lake, you dismount and have a few minutes to explore the shoreline and waterfall, before making your return to the pack station. This two and a half hour trail ride in California is the ideal adventure in Virginia Lakes.
What To Bring
Sunscreen and bug spray (apply before getting in the saddle!)
Sunglasses
Sturdy shoes or boots
Hat (either a baseball cap or a hat that has a chinstrap)
Jacket/sweater recommended (your jacket can be tied on the back of your saddle)
Bottle of water
What We Provide
We will furnish a small horn-bag for your water bottle and small personal items. Be sure that your “carry-on” gear (camera, snacks, water) weigh no more than three pounds.

Saddle Up For A Picnic, Fishing, & Hiking
Ride through all of beautiful Virginia Lakes Canyon on this all-day horseback ride. Climb up to B***o Pass and beyond, to a grassy meadow with an overlook of Summit Lake and the peaks of northern Yosemite. There, you stop for lunch and can explore the mountainside on foot. On the return, you climb back over the pass to see stunning eastern facing views of the canyon we call home! This full-day Virginia Lakes escape includes your horseback ride, hiking, and lunch.
