On September 11, 2001, as chaos unfolded in the North Tower of the World Trade Center, a guide dog named Roselle became an unexpected hero. She calmly led her blind owner, Michael Hingson, and a group of over 30 people down 78 flights of stairs to safety. Despite the smoke, noise, and confusion, Roselle remained focused and composed, helping others stay calm simply by her presence.

During the descent, Roselle paused only once, to comfort a woman having a panic attack. She gently nuzzled and kissed her, offering reassurance in the most human way a dog could. Her quiet strength and unwavering loyalty helped transform fear into courage, allowing the group to continue their escape even as the building trembled around them.

Roselle’s actions that day became a symbol of trust, training, and the extraordinary bond between guide dogs and their handlers. She continued to serve until 2007 and passed away in 2011, but her legacy lives on as a reminder that heroism can come on four paws, with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 3:51pm officers of the Manchester Township Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Tuckerton Avenue and Pershing Avenue for the report of a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, officers observed a white 2014 Toyota Corolla parked on the side of the road with damage to the front end and windshield of the vehicle, and a female pedestrian on the ground within the intersection. The driver of the Toyota was identified as 45-year-old, Karla Carrizales of Manchester, NJ who was uninjured from the crash. The female pedestrian was identified as 77-year-old, Martha J. Mosley of Whiting, NJ, was medevac to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ with severe injuries to the entirety of her body and is currently listed in critical condition.

The crash investigation revealed that the Toyota was traveling west on Pershing Ave. Martha at the time of the crash was walking south on Tuckerton Ave. attempting to cross the roadway with her dog. The Toyota impacted Martha within the intersection with the front end of the vehicle. After initial impact Martha was thrown approximately twenty feet and came to final rest on the roadway. The Toyota after initial impact pulled over immediately and came to final rest on the right portion of Pershing Ave.

Assisting at the scene were Fire Fighters and EMT’s from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Medical Services, Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and NJSP South Star Air Medical Helicopter. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, but at this point, sun glare and failure to yield are the primary contributing factors in the crash. 💔 Still Waiting: Kimora’s Story 💔

Sweet Kimora has been waiting since May 2024—and now, as we are into 2025, she still sits without a single application. Not one. 😔

This gentle 4-year-old girl has watched other cats come and go. She was a devoted mama, raising her four kittens with love, and they’ve all found homes. But Kimora? She’s been overlooked again and again.

She’s a quiet, shy soul, happiest in a cozy bed, watching the world go by. But behind those beautiful, watchful eyes is a cat who wants to be loved—she’s just waiting for the right person to give her a chance.

Kimora doesn’t ask for much: a calm home, a patient heart, and a little space to feel safe. She’d love to be your one and only, your quiet companion who blossoms when she finally knows she’s home. 🌿

It breaks our hearts to see her still waiting. Will you be the one to change her story? Please share and help Kimora find the love she so deserves. 💕
