A huge THANK YOU to Brad Gomez at Pradera Hunting Club for trusting HD Gundogs with there next hunting partner!

The proof is in the pudding — HD Gundogs produce awesome hunting dogs, and that’s why so many professional guides choose to hunt with them.

This HD Birch daughter, Ellie, is going to do BIG things. We’re proud to have her headed toward becoming a professional guide dog, and we can’t wait to continue her Gundog training and finish her out.

Thank you again, Brad, for trusting us with Ellie. We’re excited to see what this girl does! 🦆🐕

Reba’s first duck hunt! 🦆

After graduating from our Basic Gundog Program, Reba is officially living every minute of her new job—and she’s loving every second of it.

Reba doesn’t just train like a hunting dog — she trains like she hunts. 🔥🦆

Calm when she needs to be, intense when it’s time to work, and always ready to give 110%. That natural switch is what we love seeing in our dogs at HD Gundogs.

Train hard. Hunt harder.

Woods KOE has the looks. 🔥

This handsome guy is HD Banjo × HD Vada, and he’s shaping up to be one special dog. Great looks, strong pedigree, and the kind of presence that turns heads.

Keep an eye on Woods KOE — he’s just getting started. 🦆🐾

Everybody meet Ellie — “HD Ellie’s Birch Please” 🌿

Ellie is out of HD Birch and will be going through our program here at HD Gundogs. She’s smart, confident, athletic, and has everything we look for in a future finished dog.

Our plan is to develop Ellie into a finished gundog and offer her for sale once she’s ready.

Everybody meet HD Oak’s Leaf It to Me! 🌳

I’m sure most can figure out who his sire is just by looking at him — HD Oak is out of HD Birch, and he looks just like his old man!

Oak is quickly becoming a benchmark for what we want to produce here at HD Gundogs. He’s smart, confident, athletic, and just flat-out good looking. Everything we look for in a future finished gundog.

Oak will be offered as a finished dog next year for someone looking for the complete package.

This is what we strive to produce — brains, confidence, style, and looks to match.

Keep an eye on this boy. He’s going to be a special one! 🌳🦆

First hunt for HD Trixie 🦆💥

This girl is starting to get the hang of it! First hunts are all about exposure, experience, and building confidence—and Trixie is soaking it all in. She’s got a lot to learn, but we’re loving what we’re seeing so far.

The future is looking bright for this girl! 🔥🐕

Not every day you get to see a dog you raised and trained hunting alongside the Governor of the great state of Louisiana! 🦆🇺🇸

HD Sky (HD Banjo x HD Reba) is having an absolute blast and showing exactly what she was bred and trained to do.

There’s nothing better than seeing one of our dogs out in the field, doing what they love and making memories with some pretty special people.

Proud of this girl! 🔥🐾

Like Father Like Son

We get asked all the time, “What qualities do you look for in your retrievers?”

For us, it’s simple. We want a dog with a strong personality and an absolute desire to work. We want a dog that attacks the bumper, gives us 110% to it and 110% back. An absolute killer in the field.

But when the work is over, we want something completely different—a dog that is lovable, great with our children, and has a laid-back demeanor around the house.

That combination is what we strive to produce at HD Gundogs.

Here’s a glimpse of HD KOE, owned by Taylor Wood. This guy is in the making to be an absolute superstar. The only thing we don’t like about him is that we’re not his owners! 😂

HD Banjo x HD Vada absolutely knocked this one out of the park.

This is exactly the kind of retriever we’re chasing. 🔥🐕
