Reunion Under the Rainbow

In the quiet of the night, when the world is still,
I dream of you, my love, with a heart that aches and thrills.
Though you’ve left this earth, your spirit never fades,
And in my dreams, we walk again through the softest shades.

The stars above whisper your name,
And the moonlight dances, setting fire to the flame.
I close my eyes, and there you are,
A gentle light, my guiding star.

The day will come, I know it well,
When the pain of goodbye will cease to swell.
Under the rainbow, so full and bright,
We’ll meet again in that glowing light.

I’ll hold you close, as I did before,
Feeling your warmth and love once more.
The bond we shared, forever strong,
No distance, no time can make it wrong.

Through the trials of grief, I carry on,
Waiting for the day when the night is gone,
When the colors of the rainbow fill the sky,
And we reunite, with no more goodbyes.

Until that day, I’ll live for the dream,
That one day, together, we will again beam.
Under the rainbow, forever to stay,
Until the end of time, we’ll walk that way.

My heart will keep you, never apart,
Until the day we reunite, heart to heart.

The bond we share with our pets doesn’t end when their time here is done. Their love is patient, their hearts unshaken, and we like to believe they wait for us in a place full of peace and light.

This picture captures that quiet hope - that our faithful friends are sitting on the rainbow bridge, watching the sky, ready to greet us when we arrive.

Every moment we spend with them now becomes a memory that lasts forever. Extra walks, soft words, belly rubs, and time together are gifts that never fade.

Hold them close, love them well, and know that the connection you share is something even time can’t break.

In 2005, a six-month-old kitten named Oscar was adopted by a nursing home in the US to be raised as a therapy cat. However, the workers noticed something peculiar about him.

While Oscar usually preferred to be alone, he occasionally crawled into a resident's bed and snuggled beside them.

The eerie thing about this is that the resident that Oscar would cuddle with would usually die within hours.

Initially, the staff didn't think much of it, but after this happened 20 times, they started to believe that Oscar knew when someone was close to passing away, and so when they noticed the cat next to a resident, they would call their loved ones to warn them.

Researchers speculate that Oscar could smell biochemicals released by dying cells and so chose to comfort lonely residents.

On one occasion, the staff was convinced that a resident was about to pass away, but Oscar refused to sit with them. Instead, he chose another resident who looked healthier, and that person passed away first.

Oscar died in 2022, and over the course of his life he accurately predicted over 100 deaths.
