🐾 Why We Feed Princess Whole Rabbit — Fur and All 🐇

As a working livestock guardian dog, Princess doesn’t just protect the farm — she lives the farm life. One of the best things we do for her health, behavior, and instincts is feeding her whole rabbit carcasses — with the skin and fur still on.

Here’s why:

✅ Nutritional Powerhouse
Feeding the whole rabbit (meat, organs, bones) mirrors how dogs naturally eat in the wild. It’s rich in protein, vitamins, calcium, and other essential nutrients — all in one.

✅ Fur = Gut Cleanser
The fur acts like nature’s fiber, cleaning out her digestive tract, scraping away parasites, and promoting healthy bowel movements.

✅ Dental Health
Chewing through the hide, tendons, and bones scrapes tartar off her teeth — no toothbrush needed. It’s the best way to naturally support her oral hygiene.

✅ Mental Satisfaction
Ripping, tearing, and chewing activates her natural instincts. It keeps her calm, focused, and mentally fulfilled — especially important for a high-drive guardian breed like the Great Pyrenees.

➡️ Raw feeding isn’t for every dog, but for working dogs like Princess, it connects them to their purpose and gives them exactly what their body craves.

We freeze the rabbits first (to eliminate parasites), then feed outside. It’s clean, healthy, and instinctually right.

A healthy farm dog is a happy farm dog. 🐶💪🏽🐇

Update from the Farmstead 🐐🌿
We just wrapped up Day 3 of Nutri-Drench for our sweet girl Silver, and we’re happy to report she’s showing real improvement! 🙌 Her energy is picking up, she’s moving better, and back to browsing like a champ.

Sometimes a little boost makes all the difference. Grateful for these small wins on the farm. 💚

🐐💩 Goat Tip from the Farmstead: Handling Mild Scours Naturally 💧🌿

Noticed one of your goats with a slightly runny back end but still full of energy and eating well? That could be a mild case of scours (diarrhea) — and quick action can prevent bigger issues! Here’s what we do at Simple Way Farmstead:

🔹 Step 1: Give Nutri-Drench
👉 Use Goat Nutri-Drench at a dose of 1.25 mL per 25 lbs of body weight
👉 Administer orally with a small syringe (before food if possible)

🔹 Step 2: Monitor Closely
✅ Watch their stool, energy level, and appetite for the next 24–48 hours
✅ Keep them hydrated — clean water is key!

🔹 Step 3: Add Natural Support
🌿 A few fresh dandelion leaves or a light electrolyte solution in water can help

🧠 Don’t panic! Mild scours often clear up fast with just a little support. But if things worsen, contact your vet or let us know — we’re always here to help our fellow goat keepers!

📍Goat Tip from the Farm: Tethering for Maximum Grazing! 🐐🌿

At Simple Way Farmstead, we’re putting our goats to work — the smart way. 💪
By tethering each goat individually, we allow them to target specific weedy patches and cover more ground without overgrazing one area. It’s a great method for clearing brush safely and efficiently while keeping the herd happy and well-fed.

✅ Keeps goats focused
✅ Protects sensitive zones
✅ Maximizes forage use
✅ Reduces labor moving fencing

We always provide shade, water, and supervision. Rotate daily for fresh forage and minimal stress.
This method works great for wooded clearings, trails, and underbrush cleanup!

🧪🐐 Why We Deworm at Simple Way Farmstead
Even the healthiest-looking goats can carry internal parasites! An initial deworming is crucial to give your herd a clean start—especially if they’re new, young, or adjusting to a new environment.

We believe in responsible, targeted treatment to protect our goats and ensure strong growth, clean coats, and active grazing. 💪🌿

✅ Healthy goats = better meat, milk, and manure.
📅 Stay tuned for our full parasite control schedule!

🐐 Feeding Time = Training Time 🐐

At Simple Way Farmstead, every feeding is a lesson. We’re teaching our young goats to stay calm, stand back, and wait their turn—no mobbing, no crowding.

Why? Because these little girls will grow into strong, powerful does. Respectful habits now make handling safer and smoother later.

It’s not just feeding—it’s training for the future. 💪🏽

🐾 Whole Animal Nutrition on the Farmstead 🐾

At Simple Way Farmstead, nothing goes to waste. Today, our guardian dog Princess is enjoying a nutrient-rich meal—the head from a home-raised rabbit we processed about 3 weeks ago.

Feeding raw parts like this provides her with:
✔️ Natural calcium from the bone
✔️ Brain and eye nutrients for neurological health
✔️ Enrichment and instinctual satisfaction

We believe in respectful, full-use farming—every part of the animal supports our land, our soil, or our livestock.

On the Path in Search of Optimal Health

At Ar-Rahmah Pharm we seek to assist those who are in search of optimal health. We use all-natural food-based ingredients in our supplements. The goal is to give the body assistance in healing itself with essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients and antioxidants. It is our firm belief that optimal health can best be achieved through natural means and natural substances. As such, in order for any supplement to work it must be used in conjunction with an all natural diet and lifestyle and both must be done consistently. In other words, its not the medicine that cures you; it’s the food. Any herbal or dietary supplement is only used to assist the body in doing its natural function of balancing, building, and repairing by providing the much needed nutrients that the body is lacking. When one understands what is lacking then one can target that need with the proper herbal and dietary supplements.
