The Muzzle is a great tool in dog training. While they do offer protection for the trainer if things get a little swirly, they also come in handy when we’re learning about a dogs threshold and response levels. I love muzzles. Muzzle allow the trainer to be more sure in his or her approach. Muzzles help prevent the trainer from over reacting, indirectly rewarding the dogs unwanted behavior responses. There is a whole toolbox on muzzles we can get into. How to get them on an aggressive dog. When and where to use a muzzle and when to remove the muzzle from training to progress. As we ease restrictions and resume normal life, let’s not forget about our puppies. Think about how your dogs are going to react to life post-pandemic. As a result of life in quarantine, some dogs have never been alone, never seen guests or had any human contact outside of their owners, and have had absolutely no socialization with other dogs.
