One year. 🐾

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we became The Hound Lounge. What an incredible year it has been!

We are so thankful for every client who has trusted us with their pets, supported our small business, referred their friends and family, and cheered us on along the way. Your loyalty and support mean more than we can put into words.

To our amazing team and the wonderful dogs and cats we get to care for every day—thank you for being part of this journey.

We know we’ve been a little quiet over here lately, but things at The Hound Lounge have been BUSY — and honestly, we’re incredibly thankful for all of our amazing clients who continue to keep us so busy. ❤️

We do have a few updates:

We’re excited to officially welcome TWO new groomers to our Lakewood Ranch salon, which means we’ll be able to start opening up some additional appointment availability immediately. More details on that to follow as everyone gets settled in. ✨

Caissy will also be helping with some Thursday availability at our Parrish salon!

We’re also excited that Jessica will be opening up some additional appointment availability starting around mid-August as well. 🐾

And as many of you already know, Sasha will tentatively be starting maternity leave around August 1st. Amanda will be covering Sasha’s clients during her leave to help keep everyone on schedule until she returns. 🩵

Thank you guys again for your patience, support, referrals, and trust in us. We truly appreciate every single one of you and are excited for what’s ahead!

In observance of Memorial Day, The Hound Lounge will be closed Monday as we take time to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ❤️🇺🇸

Miss Gracie came in for her spa day with Sasha and left looking like an actual stuffed animal. Those little ears, the fluffy tail, and those sweet eyes are enough to make Monday a whole lot better 😭🐾

This week we’re celebrating Abigail at our Parrish location — and her TWO year anniversary with The Hound Lounge! 🖤🐾

Abigail has had a passion for animals since childhood and brings such a calm, compassionate energy to the salon every single day. With hands-on training through a veterinary assisting program and a heart for rescue, she truly cares about making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during their visit.

If your short-coated pup leaves the salon silky smooth, fresh, and shining… there’s a good chance Abigail worked her magic ✨ She takes care of all of our Spa Bath services and is dedicated to helping pets not only look beautiful, but feel their absolute best too.

We’re so thankful to have her as part of our team and can’t wait to see her continue to grow with us. Congratulations on 2 years, Abigail! 🖤

The Hound Lounge is proudly family owned by Amanda & Josh Aaron. Josh is an Air Force veteran, and Amanda has been grooming since 2004—a nationally award-winning, certified groomer and dedicated preservation breeder of Bichon Frise.

Since 2015, we’ve been part of this community—raising our three kids, Shelby, MaKenzie, and Rhett, while building a business that truly feels like home.

We’re not a franchise. We’re not corporate.
Our team is made up of local women—moms, sisters, daughters—people who live here, raise their families here, and genuinely care about the pets (and people) in this community. These aren’t just employees—they’re familiar faces, relationships, and a big part of what makes this place what it is.

Matted Monday… but make it fashion?

This entire coat came off one dog who hadn’t been groomed in quite a while — and while we can laugh a little at Caissy’s new “fur jacket,” matting like this is actually really uncomfortable for pets.

Tight mats pull on the skin, trap moisture, and can even hide irritation underneath.

Regular grooming isn’t just about looks — it’s about keeping your dog comfortable and healthy 💛

Shoutout to Caissy for tackling this one 👏
