"Nala (who was originally named Scout) has completely transformed my life in the best possible way. I first walked into Heart of the Valley just to spend some time with the dogs, not even thinking about adopting, but the moment I laid eyes on her, something clicked. I couldn’t stop thinking about her and knew I had to find a way to bring her home. Since then, she’s adjusted so well to my life, and it’s been amazing to see her embrace so many new experiences. From her love for treats to swimming in the river, long walks, and even joining me on trail rides with the horses, Nala has become such an important part of my everyday routine. She’s incredibly sweet and easy-going, always up for a cozy chill-out session but also full of energy when she gets the zoomies and runs around outside. Watching her grow into her own and seeing the bond we’ve built has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever experienced. I love her deeply and feel so grateful that Heart of the Valley brought us together. She’s not just a dog, she’s my soulmate in furry form, and I truly can’t imagine my life without her." -Makenna

"I adopted Chai (originally Butter Beans) from the shelter in October 2022. For the first 6mo of his life anytime you’d pick him up he’d make air biscuits until you put him back down. Now at 2 1/2yrs old he’s the sweetest and most cuddly boy! He gets in moods where he just wants to cuddle, rubbing his head on you aggressively and meowing until you pet him. Sometimes he gets so excited to be petted he drools all over the place. He’s really such a sweet boy and I’m so thankful I get the chance to love him for his entire life!" -Kyleigh
