"Tut, renamed to Moose, is a completely different dog since adoption. He is such a fun and happy-go-lucky guy. He really is a great companion and never fails to make us smile! He has benefitted so much from confidence building and realizing the world isn’t as scary as he thought. He is a great addition to our lives." -Kerianna

"I foster what I call "little olds", the small elderly dogs who suddenly find themselves in the shelter, surrounded by large, loud dogs. They've led pampered lives. Most of the little olds also let me know that they are accustomed to sleeping in bed with their person! So, I enjoy giving these dogs a bit of the pampering that they've known." -Barbara, HOV volunteer & foster since 2021.

You can help raise money to help cats and dogs this summer with a kid’s fundraiser! We love our young supporters who help homeless cats and dogs with lemonade stands and other creative ideas.

If you know a young person who would like to participate, contact Kelly at [email protected] or 406-404-3070 for a kid’s fundraiser toolkit including a HOV cash bank, stickers and ‘name an animal’ certificate.

"I adopted Stella in June of 2019 when she was 9 years old! I was looking for a dog that was good with kids, animals, and needed a home- and there she was! She’s been the best dog and my shadow for the last five years. She’s been in preschool classrooms to help kids with their feelings, backpacking through the Beartooths, and to the Oregon coast! Now that she’s a little older (14) she prefers napping on the couch with her blanket instead of hiking but still enjoys being outside exploring. Could not appreciate HOV more for all the work they do in our community." -Megan
