Hi everyone! Since I’m getting lots of calls/messages about picking up chickens I thought I’d give a quick update. I am going down my reservation list and people have been picking up this past week/weekend but since I lost a few and some have turned out to be roosters, I wanted to give people a chance to pick out alternatives to the ones they reserved, so it’s taking a bit longer 😊 I’m hoping to be able to fill all the numbers, even if you need to pick another breed, so please bear with me, we are working on it 😬🐓

*Also, we got chicken orders 3 weeks in a row so the ones that are a couple weeks younger are a little smaller, but they don’t need special treatment (heat lamps etc) Everyone is fully feathered and outside.

I wanted to give an update on the chickens. We think we had something get in their yard, or at least near their coop, and terrify them to the extent that we have been treating all of them for serious stress related issues. Vitamins, electrolytes, hand feeding and syringe feeding even. Consequently we have lost quite a few and are hoping to not lose more. As much as I’d like to have enough chickens to fill all the requests, it’s probably not going to be likely at this point. I’m not even going to do a headcount for a couple weeks because I don’t want to stress them out more. I’m most likely going to move the pick up dates to, at the very soonest, next month. If you don’t want to wait to see if I even have your birds, I know there are a couple producers in Billings area that has some as well. Opry Hill, Pioneer Poultry and Aminalls Farm.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but it’s just one of the realities of having animals and dealing with things that are out of my control 🫶🏻

It’s been a busy couple of days and I’m almost back to knowing what day we’re on 😬 Merry had her usual 4 babies, 2 boys and 2 girls. Three of them were pretty big so I had to help her get them out, but she’s doing really good with them. Star had a big boy and a smaller girl all by herself. It took a couple hours of me and Moriah getting her little doeling warmed up and alert but they’re all doing good now. Star’s genes took over the coloring and she copied herself again.

Cookie had her very first kids with no help and she’s already being a really good mom. Three bucks that my daughter named Sven, Chicken and Waffle 🐐🐐🐐

It is on a first come first served basis. I am making my way through all of the messages I've gotten and will put you on the list with your request in the order I was contacted. Some breed have very limited amounts so it's a good idea to have backups if the ones you want as a first choice aren't available. Breed descriptions and prices are in the May/June 2023 album. I will be contacting everyone by the end of May/early June to come and pick up your birds. Please let me know ASAP if things change so I can let people who are on the waitlist have a chance to get some.
