‼️Attention‼️
For the foreseeable future Bozeman Pet Hospital’s operating hours ⏰will be Monday-Friday 8am-6pm, and Saturday-Sunday 9am-6pm.

We will still see same day, urgent care appointments during our hours of operation. We are working to ensure our doors remain open 7 days/ week📅, and appreciate 🙏🏽 everyone’s flexibility and patience. We will continue to keep you all updated as we navigate these hour changes🐾.

Happy Halloween from Bozeman Pet Hospital🎃! We would love to see your pets’ halloween costumes so be sure to tag us in your posts and send pictures to so that we can share our adorable patients👻!! Halloween is also the time of year when we see an increase in chocolate ingestion in dogs 🐶. We do 🚫NOT🚫 recommend inducing vomiting 🤮 at home because it can cause more harm than good. If your dog eats 🍫 chocolate contact us at 406-587-2946 or call Pet Poison Helpline at 1-800-213-6680. The sooner treatment begins, the better your dog’s prognosis!

‼️Important Update‼️: Dr. Dan Thomsen has led our urgent care services over the last 3 years, all while becoming an integral part of our team. It is with a heavy heart 💔we announce that Dr. Thomsen will be leaving WellHaven Bozeman Pet Hospital mid-October😢. While our team struggles with saying goodbye to such a valuable team member and leader, we know that Dr. Thomsen is going to go on to do ✨great things✨ for the pets of Gallatin Valley. If your pet needs any additional follow up care with Dr. Thomsen, please plan to do so by October 19th🎃. Dr. Kimbrell and Dr. Wolf will be able to continue care on any remaining cases🩺. We are working to ensure our doors remain open 7 days/week🗓️, however we may have some weekends with shortened hours. We will work to keep you all updated🐾.

We will be open July 1st-3rd from 8am-6pm. We are closed July 4th but we will be open again July 5th from 8am-9pm and July 6-7th from 9am-9pm! 🇺🇸🐾❤️🤍💙. If you need firework medication for your dog PLEASE call us as SOON as possible so we can get you medication before July 4th!

Why Should You Spay or Neuter Your Pet?

There are an abundance of reasons why it is recommended that all cats and dogs be spayed or neutered. At what age to do so depends on species, breed, and gender and should be discussed with your veterinarian. The following are the reasons why we always recommend spay and neuter:
◦ Intact female cats and dogs are prone to developing two life threatening conditions that are very expensive to treat, and are still often fatal.
▪ Pyometra - infection of the uterus, causing it to fill with pus. Animals become critically ill and will die without emergency surgery.
▪ Mammary cancer - intact females are at a very significantly higher risk of developing mammary cancer if they have been through more than 2 heat cycles. 50% of mammary tumors in dogs are malignant, and nearly all mammary tumors in cats are malignant.
◦ Intact male dogs are prone to developing several conditions that can be difficult and very expensive to resolve.
▪ Prostatitis - infection and/or inflammation within the prostate, which is very painful and can cause obstruction of the urinary bladder.
▪ Prostatic hyperplasia - enlargement of the prostate, which can cause obstruction of the urinary bladder.
▪ Perianal adenomas - masses that develop around the a**s, and can sometimes become large enough to obstruct defecation.
▪ Perineal hernias - weakening of the pelvic musculature leading to prolapse of pelvic and abdominal organs around the area of the a**s. Surgical correction of this condition is extremely difficult and thus quite expensive. ▪ Testicular cancer
• Behavioral: There are a number of bothersome or even dangerous behaviors intact animals can display
◦ Intact male dogs are escape artists and often run away. The frequency of intact male dogs being hit by cars is much higher than all other dogs. Additionally, most intact male dogs urine mark, including indoors. They also are more likely to becoming aggressive.

We are unfortunately closed Thanksgiving day but we will be open Friday from 8am to 9pm, and both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 9pm. We are accepting same day appointments and any urgent care/emergency needs on these days.

With Thanksgiving being this Thursday 11/23, we thought it would be helpful to share our hours this week!🍁🍂🦃

We will be CLOSED on Thursday 11/23 to celebrate Thanksgiving with our loved ones.

We will be open for our normal operating hours the remainder of the week, including Urgent Care on Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday!!

We are all so thankful to have such wonderful clients and patients!! Safe travels to any of those traveling this week!

This cutie pie would like to make a request: if you have any old bath towels/sheets/big or small blankets, we would be ever so grateful to take them off your hands. Let’s be honest, most get covered in unmentionables (💩) as we work to take care of our sick patients and don’t have a super long lifespan.
