Meet Charlie, a 6 year old golden retriever, who is looking for his forever home. We are unfortunately needing to find him a new home that doesn’t have another dog or small children as he has started showing aggression towards other dogs as he resource guards, and small children seem to make it worse as they cry/scream and have an excited high energy, which makes him anxious (it seems to be tied to a pitch with him). He does try and resource guard with cats as well. He doesn't seem to do well with birds in the home (geese, ducks, chickens, etc) as he was introduced to some for a week and did not get used to them during that time. He does fine with other dogs he meets when out and hasn't shown aggressive tendancies when he is on walks or at the dog park - it's when there is another dog in the home, and they have to share.

Overall, he is such a loving, smart, and loyal dog, and we just want to see him flourish in a home with no other dogs and a more active household with a consistent training routine to help him with the resource guarding aggression and anxiety he is showing. He knows his basic commands (though may need a bit of refreshing). He is fixed and up to date on his vaccines. We have tried to train him against resource guarding over the years with no success as we have another dog and small kids. It pains us to have to rehome him, but we need to do what's best for Charlie and what he needs in a home.

In anticipation of the Fourth of July, think creatively about giving back. Instead of purchasing fireworks, which can be traumatic for animals, make a donation to a local animal shelter. By doing do, you would be engaging in proactive efforts to help save valuable and meaningful lives. 🙏🐕❤️🐈‍⬛🎉

Alice and Laila with Aunt Lynda 😀 - it takes a village right?! Would love to have any and all pup pics shared, not just today’s birthday litter. Last falls Doodle litter are really coming into “their own” now….such a variety of sizes, curls and colors (which I had hoped for) 😀 Laila has stayed quite small and is very curly. Alice has been an amazing role model!
