The inspiration for Happy Tails Dog Rescue came about after we rescued our dog, Sophie, who was 24 hours away from being euthanized at MDAS. She was considered "undesirable" due to the fact she was an older dog in desperate need of grooming, costly dental work, and lots of love and attention to heal from the trauma of being abandoned on the streets. Today she is the most loving and

affectionate dog we have ever met; we call her our "angel dog". Sophie's story is a reminder to us that "you can't judge a book by its cover".

ALI'S OWNER PASSED AWAY UNEXPECTEDLY LEAVING ALI TO FIND A NEW HOME! Happy Tails Dog Rescue is assisting Ali's family with rehoming her. The reason for rehoming is due to Ali's owner (the grandmother) passing away unexpectedly a few months ago. The family is currently fostering Ali until they can find her a forever home. They would keep her, but they already have 3 dogs and are at full capacity in their tiny home at this time. Ali is a beautiful black Lab mix who is under a year old at 7 months. She is the sweetest little baby and is the epitome of "man's best friend". She is healthy, housetrained, and up to date on shots. ***ADOPTED***MAX'S OWNER HAS BECOME TERMINALLY ILL AND SADLY NEEDS TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR HIM...Max is a 2.5 years old, 35 lb., Bull Terrier/Rat Terrier mix (his DNA test showed 25% Bull Terrier, 25% Rat Terrier, 25% Maltese, 12.5% American Stafford Terrier). Even though he is small he is very strong and active. Max is a very affectionate, sweet, loyal, and smart dog! He is a "lap dog" and enjoys just lying next to you as much as he can. Max would do best in a home with a fenced in yard where he can have the space to run around and play.
