When 4-year-old Lola walked through our doors this week, she was clearly underweight and suffering from injuries and severe matting consistent with a life of neglect.

But a dog's capacity to forgive and trust will never cease to amaze us. Despite everything she has been through, Lola is letting her sweet, resilient spirit shine through.

We owe a massive, heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Jennifer Rourke, who came to Lola’s rescue with her expert grooming skills. Jennifer patiently worked through the severe matting, cutting away the physical reminders of Lola's past and getting her looking fresh, clean, and completely renewed.

Lola is now receiving the proper nutrition, medical care, and endless love she has deserved all along. She feels lighter, happier, and is officially ready to turn the page.

And, best of all, she’ll soon be heading to her forever family!

We have featured this gorgeous girl twice before, but for some reason, her forever family hasn’t found her yet. Maybe the 3rd time’s the charm?? We hope so! Lyla’s been waiting at the shelter since March. 💔

Lyla is a large Lab/Shepherd mix with a massive personality and a loveable, goofy nature. She thrives when she can truly be part of the family. She’s already housebroken and well-behaved indoors.

This affectionate girl loves everyone, including children and other dogs. She has lots of energy and would love a home with a playmate, whether it’s a human or a dog, to get her daily exercise. She would absolutely love a home with a fenced yard and plenty of space for fetch and zoomies.

Sitting in a kennel for months is hard on a dog who has so much love and life to give. Let's make sure this is the last post Lyla ever needs to find her happily ever after!

🎯 MONDAY GOAL: The Plus-One Grocery Run

If you’ve been following our June Intake Ticker updates, you know we’ve taken in over 730 pets in the last 3 weeks. We are burning through supplies at unprecedented rates.

Today, we are setting a collective community goal for the week ahead: DONATE NEEDED SUPPLIES.

While you’re shopping for your family's groceries this week, please consider adding just one extra item to your cart for our shelter residents. 🛒

Of course, we’re always in need of pet supplies, especially Purina Kitten Chow and non-clumping cat litter, but there are many other supplies that are constantly running low:

📋 Office Supplies: Copy paper, Scotch tape, Ziploc bags, pens, white-out, and clipboards.

🫧 Cleaning Supplies: Bleach, Dawn dish soap, laundry detergent, and heavy-duty floor cleaners.

🧻 Paper Products: Paper towels, toilet paper, and facial tissues.

Every single donation makes an immediate difference.

Our toy basket is EMPTY! 🙀

Adoption Counselor, Haley, handed out the last of our cat toys to our resident felines. As you can see, cats of all ages LOVE them! Playing keeps them happy and active while they wait for their forever homes.
