Here is the post with the info for the Henrietta Drive Thru Vacicne Clinic
Countywide Drive-through Vaccination Clinic
Thursday, May 29th, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Bridge Street Annex (formerly the Wells Fargo Building)
Rabies is a very scary disease. If you have ever had to take the rabies shots, as I have, you know how painful they are. Fortunately, Rabies is rare in Clay County, but it still exists. Last week, there was a concern about a cat that could be rabid. Our Constable Josh Ferguson, our Rabies Officer for the Health Department, sent the cat off to be tested. It returned negative for Rabies, but it reminded me of how serious an outbreak could be.
Sadly, Clay County doesn't have a veterinarian. That means pet owners have to travel out of the county to get their pets vaccinated. Because of that, I contacted Dr. Stetson Miller, co-owner of Cross Timbers Veterinary Hospital in Bowie, to see if they would consider conducting a drive-through vaccination clinic in Henrietta for the whole county.
Dr. Miller was raised in Clay County and graduated from Bellevue High School. After attending Texas A&M for undergraduate studies in Animal Science, He obtained his DVM at Virginia Tech. He returned to Texas to work at the Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Lab for two years and is now at the Cross Timbers Veterinary Hospital in Bowie.
Dr. Miller, along with Dr. Sara Holloway, DVM, Dr. Madisson Wiggins, DVM, and their staff, will conduct the drive-through clinic at the Bridge Street Annex (formerly the Wells Fargo Building) on Thursday, May 29th, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The hope is that you will have time to get home from work, get your pet in the car, and get in line.
Tricia and I have done this at their Bowie Clinic before, and it is easy and quick. When you drive up, just let them know what shots your pet will need, and the vet will come to your car and give the vaccination.
They will provide Rabies, distemper/parvo, kennel cough, rattlesnake, and flu vaccines for dogs and rabies and feline leukemia vaccines for cats. Rabies vaccine for $15, DAPP2L for $34, rattlesnake for $32, Bordatella for $16, Canine Flu vaccine for $48, and FELV/FVRCP for $34. You can pay with cash, check, or swipe your card without getting out of your vehicle.
I will invite city officials from each community to sell pet licenses and provide tags.
Let me encourage you to participate in this event to prevent an outbreak in our pets. While there, you might ask if the Cross Timbers Veterinary Hospital would consider opening a branch in Clay County.
