I asked my son what he wanted for his birthday.

He said Ma can you service my plant, she's growing wild and I'd like a nice polished look.

I hit up a couple stores and prepared potting soil from my pile I'm using for my raised beds.

He got to observe and learn ways to maximize your dollar by purchasing from the clearance section.

Stuffing the bottom with cardboard

Removing the damaged leaves

Trimming the dead parts of the leaf

And how to stake and clip.

We shared valuable bonding time and he experienced the joys of soil touching.

We're also trying cover crops for the 1st time with these organic crimson clover

It's our 2nd year planting spinach. Excited to have some plugs for the community for upcoming markets.

The Power of Nature’s Nourishment!

1. These green beans needed cooler temperatures that was the middle of summer provided.

2/3. These mini pumpkins are going to be sooo cute. The pumpkins patch is really taking off and this is a lesson learned for future raised bed plantings.

4. Hello Crimson Clover sprouts

5/6. Melon vines are filling out our trellis! So exciting...

7. Something is enjoying the corn that I left on the stalks that didn't fully mature. I ran out of hardwire cloth securing the hens area. But adding another reel to the list of needs.

8. The zinnias I transplanted from starter cups to our garden area are blooming.
