- fine tuning of old training as repetition is a great way to build a deeper bond with your dog.

These activities can help prevent future health issues and maintain a balanced mind set for your pet. Preventing unwanted behaviors and habits as well.

*Tips on maintaining your dogs coat between grooming appointments

- I recommend a good brushing at least once a week if possible.

*Long coated breeds *
~ a slicker brush is best for top coat brushing followed by a grey hound comb all the way through the length of coat down to the skin.

This will help to prevent matting especially in the more troubled areas such as the belly, armpits, behind ears, the area a collar or harness sits, and butt area.
If bathing is needed between grooms a good way to prevent matting is to also brush the wet coat after bathing. If not it can cause existing mats to twist in even tighter.

* Short coated breeds *
~ a rubber curry works wonders for removing excess shed and maintaining healthy skin for a shinny coat. The curry can also be used while bathing.

Small general maintenance in between grooms can help prevent painful matting and promote a heathy coat and skin.

This also makes for a more enjoyable grooming experience for your dog.
