👉 Attention cat owners: currently, there is no approved treatment for heartworm disease in cats. Instead, management focuses on stabilizing the cat and closely monitoring their condition with frequent chest X-rays.

Steroids and antibiotics may be used to help address inflammation and the heartworm's Wolbachia infection. Unfortunately, the average survival time for heartworm-infected cats is only one and a half years.

Providing year-round heartworm prevention is an important part of your pet’s health care plan. If you would like to discuss the various preventives, contact our team by calling , so we can determine what protocol would best fit you and your pet’s lifestyle.

🌱🐾 Pet owners, before letting your furry friend play outside, make sure you do a little pet-proofing!

👀 Lawns and gardens can be hazardous if they've been fertilized or sprayed with pesticides, or if garden additives have been used. Make sure to choose pet-safe products and keep curious pets from ingesting fertilizers or repellents.

🚫 Also, watch out for toxic plants like lilies, azaleas, sago palms, and tulips. Monitor your pets while outside or transplant these plants to a safer area.👌

🐾🌡️ Is your pet showing signs of boredom or destructive behavior? Without proper physical exercise and mental stimulation, pets can develop all sorts of problem behaviors.

😾🐶 A bored cat may become aggressive, while a bored puppy may chew furniture. Understimulated pets are also more likely to show signs of anxiety and fear aggression.

🏋️‍♀️🧠 Keep your pet happy and healthy by providing ample physical and mental stimulation. Call 508-743-8338 to talk to your veterinarian about how to keep your furry friend entertained.

Hey pet parents! 🐶🐾 Want to improve your communication with your dog? Take a page from their book!

Approach them first with your body angled away, or drop your shoulder when calling them. Instead of reaching out, offer a treat and let them come to you. Make sure to keep your body language relaxed and calm, like the confident dog's "loose" posture. You'll be speaking their language in no time!
