Every Wednesday we shine the light on someone extraordinary. This week — a horse we're racing to adopt. Polaris has been with us since 2024. He stands steady beside every client who needs a quiet presence. He has never once walked away from someone who needed him. That's not training. That's calling. Help us keep him home. 🐴 Link in below.

Tuesday training tip: the power of groundwork
Before a rider ever gets in the saddle, the real work happens on the ground. 🐎 Groundwork builds trust, communication, and confidence — not just in our horses, but in every client who walks through our gates. This week's training tip: slow, consistent ground movements tell a horse (and your nervous system) that you are safe. Try it this week — find stillness before movement.

Meet a beautiful boy who needs a home
Some horses don't just do a job — they become the job. 🐴 We're working to officially adopt one of our most beloved therapy horses, Po, before early July, so he never faces the uncertainty of a kill pen. This incredible soul has given everything to our veterans and first responders. Now it's our turn. Link below to donate — every dollar counts toward his forever home here at Gifted Herd.

🚨 WEEKEND ACTION FOR AMERICA’S HORSES 🚨

While Congress is out for the weekend, we have an important opportunity to keep building momentum for America’s horses.

As many of you know, the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee recently passed a surface transportation bill that includes bipartisan language to prohibit the transportation of horses, donkeys, and mules destined for slaughter.

This is a HUGE step forward—but our work is not done.

When Congress returns, this legislation will continue moving through the process, and we need lawmakers to know that Americans are paying attention and expecting them to protect our equines.

Why this matters:

🐴 More than 20,000 American equines were exported for slaughter in 2025 alone.

👉A recent survey shows there are over 2.3million homes available for horses across the USA!
👉Given only 0.4% of the total horse population end up in the slaughter pipeline! These horses will easily be absorbed back in to the horse community!

⚠️ The TRUTH is the horse slaughter pipeline is not just an animal welfare issue. It also raises serious concerns involving public health, biosecurity, consumer protection, and transnational crime.

🦠 Disease risks such as diphtheria-positive horses and the growing threat of screwworm make stronger protections more important than ever.

This weekend, help us keep the momentum going:

✅ TAG your friends, family, fellow horse lovers, rescues, veterinarians, horse owners, and equine organizations

✅ COMMENT and tell us why protecting America’s horses matters to you

✅ TAG lawmakers and leaders who can help ensure these protections remain in the bill:

📢 Comment “DONE” after you’ve tagged 3 friends and 3 lawmakers.

Together, we have already helped create unprecedented momentum. Let’s keep this issue front and center until these protections become law.

May is wrapping up, and with it, Mental Health Awareness Month — but the conversation doesn't end here. 💚 How did you support your mental health this month?
At Gifted Herd, mental health isn't a month. It's every session, every quiet moment in the paddock, every veteran who takes a breath they didn't know they were holding. Every first responder who finds words they couldn't find before. Every person who walks through our gates and realizes they don't have to carry it alone.
Thank you to everyone who shared, donated, showed up, and spoke up this month. You are part of this herd.
If you or someone you love could benefit from equine-assisted therapy, our doors are open.

📌We know how important horses are to you, we are asking you to help protect America’s icons from the cruelty of shipping them to foreign lands only to be brutally killed for human consumption.

🚨 The ban of transporting equines to slaughter is currently added as an amendment to the Build America 250 Act! Let’s make sure it continues to the house floor for vote!

📣Tag your friends & legislators and keep sharing your support to end this brutal practice! Let’s make sure CONGRESS hears you! We can speak up fHorses In Our Handsto us to continue to raise our voices ‼️

Thank YOU 🙏 ❤️

Coming home is its own kind of hard. And for a lot of veterans and active-duty service members, traditional therapy doesn't always feel like the right fit. 🤎
That's where horses come in.
Equine therapy meets you where you are — no pressure, no judgment, no script. Horses respond to your energy and behavior in real time, which means the work you do with them is honest and immediate. It builds trust, emotional resilience, and connection — things that can feel really far away after military service.
Our Warrior Herd program was created specifically for veterans and active-duty members navigating that transition and everything that comes with it. You don't have to figure it out alone. 🌿
