One week out of Tufts Medical Center follow-up appointment🧠🤍

A few more little milestones in this very strange recovery journey (strange because it all still feels surreal):

✅ All stitches are OUT
✅ Officially allowed to wash my hair!! 🙌
✅ Finally got to meet Dr. Malek - the best neurosurgeon in the country - while I was actually awake even though he told me that he met me MANY times (and saved my life) 😂
✅ Follow-up MRI scheduled for one month
✅ We made a plan for end of year when completely stable to place a stent for my second aneurysm, which thankfully is not as scary and not as urgent and will only require a couple nights at the hospital

Still feels surreal that this is my life right now, but every appointment that ends with a plan and a little more progress feels like a win. And I actually slept last night, it’s noon and I’m going back to sleep. Doing things takes a LOT of out me 🥱
But here I am. And washing my hair before bed tonight sounds like the best plan. 🤍

I still can’t believe this is me when I see myself 🥵
Here’s a quick Wednesday update 🤍

After 25 full days in the Neuro ICU, the day finally arrived. I got to go home. ❤️

On July 27, 2026, I had a 5 mm brain aneurysm rupture directly in front of my husband, Steve. He immediately called 911, and I was at Tufts Medical Center within about 30 minutes. When I asked which doctor saved my life, they told me it wasn’t anyone at the hospital. They said it was my husband. He acted immediately when every minute mattered, and that quick action is a huge reason I’m recovering without any deficits.

Twenty-five days is a long time to live in an ICU, being woken every hour for neuro checks, scans, procedures and constant monitoring. But it also introduced me to an incredible neurosurgery team and nurses who I’m convinced are actual angels sent to Earth.

And while something so terrifying was happening, there was so much love surrounding us. Flowers, cards, gifts, an astounding response to the GoFundMe helping with medical expenses and missed work, and an entire army of people who stepped in to love our sweet Ollie while he was without two of his girls.

I’m home now and sleeping about 95% of the day, which my brain and body desperately need. I have an MRI follow-up Friday, so please keep the good thoughts coming. For now, doctor’s orders are rest, rest and a little more rest. ❤️

Today was a 20 out of 10 rough day… but there were some beautiful, bright spots. Including getting a message from the Animal Rescue League of Boston who wasn’t sure how to shine some brightness into my world so they found these initial intake photos of sweet Ollie boy and his perfect cheekies from Dec 2017 and sent them to me to make my heart so happy, and boy did it work.

It’s been exactly one month without our girl today, and we absolutely know she is everywhere with us always and forever ✨but for now, Ollie’s young baby cheeks are giving me life.

If you wanna catch up on my brain aneurysm and what it’s like to spend 21 days in delirium in a corner of a hospital without any fresh air or sleeping more than an hour at a time, you’ve come to the right place. this is today August 18, 2026, and my goodness am I ready to go home and sleep in my own bed. This is not to say I haven’t had the best people, nurses, doctors, hospital staff cheering me through along every point of every day. And meow meow songs. But I am very ready to put the summer behind us. I’ll keep you updated, it sounds like there’s a small chance my next video might have some good news 🙏🫶

21 days in the Neuro ICU is a long time to be away from home, your normal life, and the animals you love. And then Bob walked in. 🥹🐾 meet Bob aka: BOB + DOROTHY 🐾

There’s something about having a dog climb up beside you, give you his full attention, and let you just hold onto him for a little while that makes a hospital room feel a lot less like a hospital room.

Bob is a therapy dog, but I don’t think “therapy” even begins to describe what these visits can do for someone going through one of the hardest stretches of their life.

For a few minutes, I wasn’t thinking about procedures, medications, neuro checks, pain, or how many days I had left.

I was just a girl getting some much-needed love from a very good boy. ❤️ (And my dad and husband were more than happy to get the same).

Thank you, Bob. We all needed you more than you knew.

I can’t believe that tomorrow will be three weeks of recovering in this weird bed in the Neuro ICU and I can’t believe I don’t have a release date yet. Thankfully they stopped waking me up every hour on the hour to make sure I haven’t had a stroke etc, and now we’re on to every two hours which makes me a little bit less grumpy and a little bit stronger? I think? Though throwing up last night and my vasal vagal reaction today still hurt so much and my appetite is so specific - but if I weren’t for Steve Granelli and my amazing parents and all their love and support and also catering to my literal every ask every day during the 9 hours of visiting hours a day, I know there’s no way I ever could’ve made it this far.
Our baby Luna hasn’t even been gone a month and this recovery is taking much longer than normal. Constant MRIs, CT scans, invasive 3 AM coiling of the aneurysm up from the groin into the femoral artery.… I don’t know how any of this is to actually explain. I just pray that none of you have to live this and also call 9-1-1 with a thunderclap headache and knowing your body well enough to know it needs to be checked out immediately.
Thank you so much to the friend that set up this GoFundMe (link in bio), thank you to everyone that is donated, thank you to everyone that has taken the time out of their day to go keep Ollie company after losing two of his favorite people, thank you for all the love and prayers and messages, thank you for taking care of me so I can focus on getting better and not worry about all the scary s**t that is real life. Headed back to sleep for 15 minutes! Thanks for everything ❤️‍🩹 I can’t wait get back to seeing all my friends 😻
