Before Lucy became a client, she was this cute little beagle puppy I’d see walking around Eastie with her mom very often… but thanks to her mom’s love for travel, I finally was able to spend quality time with her when she started doing sleepovers with me and Fenix! Lucy immediately became part of the pack, hiked really well off leash with us, often traveling to lots of spots to explore different trails in Massachusetts. It wasn’t until several years later, that her mom also added her to my walking pack during the weekdays. Lucy’s howl might’ve been bold and yes, sooo loud at times, but she was always this super sweet, loving, gentle friend to everyone, so pairing her with others was really easy. Over the years, I have witnessed Lucy go from being this wild and carefree pup to slowing down and in her own way telling me one hike was enough or that sitting and rolling around in the grass in the shade was even more amazing when the grass was wet. Tho she lost some desire, strength and energy level to get out in the most recent months, her excitement when I arrived was still the same. Her greeting was still filled with pure joy!! Throughout the years that I was lucky enough to work with Lucy, her mom, Ana and I spoke often and openly about how she was doing or feeling. Tuesday, July 15th, was my last walk with her. It was hot out, we were getting out early with intentions of taking a slow stroll. It was tough and she was thrilled when we got back into the a/c where she got extra belly rubs and treats of course!! The very last picture in this post is the last picture I got of the two of us together … sadly by Thursday, July 17th, Lucy’s pain was too much. I will miss this little girl so much, but she can finally run free and feel no pain. I feel very confident that my Fenix was waiting patiently for her to help her cross the rainbow bridge. We all love you Lucy and will miss you forever …. till we meet again 🌈 ♥️
