A little over a week ago, a video was brought to our attention that showed one of our walkers yanking far too hard on a dog’s leash & also walking way too many dogs together at the same time. The walker goes on to step on a dog’s leash to help untangle a dog that has a leash stuck underneath…however, that action has been repeatedly misrepresented as kicking.

Though I have accounts, I am not a fan of social media & try to stay off it as much as possible. This past week plus, I’ve been working tirelessly to fix this situation with the people and dogs directly involved, and have been replying to every single call, email and 1 star review from anyone who has reached out about the video. However, when I RECEIVED A DEATH THREAT BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO this morning, it became clear that a new course of action is necessary.

FOR THE RECORD, I do not condone the actions of the walker in the video, and I have taken multiple steps to prevent something like this from happening again. All of the dog families involved with this individual were not only given the video, but I also made sure to follow up & get a reply from every single one. I’ve also been in touch with Animal Control regarding this incident.

So yes, we know about the video & yes, we did something about it. I’ve been honest & up front with our clients…yes, we did lose a few clients as a result of this, but far more rallied in our support & are continuing with us. Some were even kind enough to leave their own reviews in our defense, but the internet trolls are claiming they are fake.

I’m far more concerned with the well being of our clients & their pets than I am the opinions of strangers who know nothing about us other than a viral video. We’ve been providing reliable & affordable pet care for over 17 years. We have many amazing employees who go above & beyond in their care for our clients & their pets. Despite what the internet trolls say, I’m still proud of Happy Pet Care & will continue to move forward with our mission of providing affordable & reliable pet care.

Happy Pet Care is excited to start helping offer convenient veterinary care in our own neighborhood! We are teaming up with Tandem Vet Care to offer mobile veterinary clinics, right in front of our doggie daycare/office space at 151 Sutherland Rd, Brighton. 😊 The first clinic is later this month on Wednesday 9/25 from 11am-1pm. Please book an appointment in advance, and if enough people sign up, Tandem can extend their hours in the neighborhood to accommodate more pets throughout the afternoon.

If you don’t have a vehicle or your pet hates riding in the car (thinking of you, cat owners!), this is a perfect opportunity to have your pet seen by an experienced veterinarian, without having to set foot in a car. Tandem can do everything from Wellness or Sick Exams, Vaccinations, Preventative Care, Lab Test/Diagnostics, and Prescriptions. Even better…once you are set up as a Tandem Vet Care client, you can do telehealth visits with a Tandem veterinarian in the future.
