So this is a pic I took on my home camera of Blanco when I was out getting dinner.
Blanco will be 2 yrs old in May. He is laying down with his mother next to him.
When Blanco was a puppy puppy 🐶 I crate trained him because he was young and I wanted to set him up for success from potty training 🚽 to not chewing inappropriate things like shoes 👟 and many other things.
I can literally count with one hand the things that he chewed up and one was puppy pads.
After crate I usually graduate them to a play pen or ex pen which gives them more space to move around. I do the expen till at least 2 yrs old or until the dog matures and then I’ll start giving them more freedom and leaving the house for short periods of time to see if I can trust them.
I’ve been doing this with Blanco for a couple months because I want to be able to graduate him to the whole run of the house 🏠.
He’s been doing good to this day and hopefully by the time he turns 2 he’s ready. We will see when time comes.
My advice to you is. Don’t give your young dog 🐕 too much freedom so early because you’re only setting them up for failure. Take my word. It will be worth it at the end.
