The weather forecast may be gloomy tomorrow, but High Tail Toys promises to have TONS OF SPRING FUN on display at the Maker's Market at Thompson's Point in Portland.

We just received a shipment of 130+ gorgeous New Zealand wool CAT CAVES, direct from our talented artisans in Nepal.

We also have a wide array of charming Easter goodies to fill baskets, including Finger Puppets, Ornaments, Toys, and more!

Looking for cheery home decor? Check out our whimsical (and fully functional) wool birdhouses and bright garlands.

Please come see us and show your support for approximately 100 of Maine's finest local artists, farms, and craftspeople.

Show hours are 10 am - 3 pm. ENTRY IS FREE! There will be food trucks right inside Brick South cash bar.

Spring has sprung! ⚘️🪻🌼🌷 And what better way to celebrate renewal than to brighten your home or office with one of our festive, high quality Poppy Garlands?!

These colorful and eco-friendly garlands are hand felted by skilled artists in Nepal from 100% New Zealand wool, using AZO-free dyes. Measuring 6' in length, with 20 flowers each, they look cheerful draped along a mantel, over a window, or across a cubicle. They may also be worn like a bohemian scarf, adding a pop of color to any outfit.

Weight is approximately 140 grams. Certified Fair Trade and 100% biodegradable, reusable, and ecyclable.

Poppy Garlands are $30.00 each, and come in vibrant Red, Purple, Yellow, Pink, and Aqua Blue.

We ship nationwide. Quotes available upon request. Or check out our booth at various Maker's Markets and Craft Fairs throughout Maine.

Twenty percent of all net profits are donated to support the foster kitten program at Midcoast Humane in Brunswick, ME. As long time volunteer fosters, we at High Tail Toys support their mission and vision.

With winter on the wane, come help us CELEBRATE while showing your support for approximately 100 of Maine's finest local artists, farms, and craftspeople.

There will be food trucks right inside , along with a cash bar serving up leprechaun-inspired green pours 🥂 starting at 10 am.

Due to the incoming storm, tomorrow's 2/9 Maker’s Market at Thompson's Point in Portland has been postponed. Management is looking at dates to reschedule. We will post an update soon. Meanwhile, High Tail Toys hopes all our friends stay warm and safe!

Christmas came early for newly adopted siblings Niko and Nala, when they received a "Welcome Kitten" package from High Tail Toys. Niko adores his catnip-filled Toss-About from The Pussums Cat Company!

Our former Midcoast Humane foster kitten from the Hobbits and Elves litter, Ollie (formerly Samwise) had Christmas come early today! His mom Jody gifted him a beautiful new Riverstone Cat Cave from High Tail Toys. This handcrafted, felted New Zealand wool bed will keep him warm and snuggly all winter.

Jody Lamscha is an integral part our business team, helping out cheerfully and tirelessly at the many shows we attend in the Portland area. We literally couldn't do it without her, and are incredibly thankful to call her a dear friend.

Jody also has a stellar new litter of English Labrador puppies available at Elsmere Labradors if anyone wants to add a beautiful dog to their family. Ollie looks forward to when they are old enough to play with him.

Twenty percent of our net profits are donated to Midcoast Humane. As long time kitten fosters, we support their mission and efforts to assist Maine pets in need.

High Tail Toys is pleased to commemorate Giving Tuesday 2024 with Midcoast Humane. Pictured below are co-founder Amy Wirtanen and Executive Director Jess Townsend, with the second installment of our $10,000 pledge in support of animal enrichment at the shelter.

The idea for our small business took hold five years ago, when co-founder Paula Brown bought some small felted wool balls to cheer up a tiny, sick foster kitten named Luna Hufflepuff. They were a huge hit, not only with Luna but with other fosters in the house.

Today, High Tail Toys carries a wide and varied line of quality cat caves, cat toys, and other felted New Zealand wool goods handcrafted by talented artists in Nepal and certified Fair Trade. We are also proud to have fostered and placed approximately 300 kittens from Midcoast Humane, and continue to pledge 20% of our net profits to the shelter in support of their mission.

The small wool balls, officially known as Looney Balls, are our signature cat toy, and a bag is given ro each adopter of our foster kittens. They're packed under the close supervision of now 5-year-old Luna Hufflepuff, who bears the title of High Tail Toys Managing Director. 😸

Under very, very close supervision by our Managing Director, Luna Hufflepuff, that's how. Her preferred perch is my chest, so she can gaze down into the tub for the ultimate in quality control. At 13 pounds, that makes for interesting contortions on my part.

Wow!! Last Sunday's Maker's Market at Thompson's Point far exceeded our expectations, with a fabulous turnout and eclectic array of 100 artists and makers from Maine and beyond. Sales were very brisk for High Tail Toys ... Amy, Jody, and I barely paused all day, ringing up sales, bagging goodies, and restocking.

We look forward to returning on Sunday, 11/24. Please come visit us between 10 am - 3 pm!

Our booth will be bursting with cat caves (over 100 new ones expected in stock with some cool designs), unique cat toys and cat attractants, and gorgeous holiday decor (ornaments, pet stockings, and garland).
