Alright everyone. This sweet boy needs a home. We found out he is at risk of euthanasia. He is currently at Alleghany County Animal Shelter.

Age: 1 year old
Breed: Malinois/Shepherd/Cur Mix
Gender: Neutered Male
Weight: 64 pounds
Intake: Owner Surrender 11/18/25

Reason for Surrender: Unable to take care of him
Medical: Vaccines and Rabies UTD. No other concerns known at this time.

Bio Notes: Nykee is a high-energy, full of personality big-puppy. He needs continued training on proper leash walking, pulling, and mannerisms. He shows steady improvement, with continued training we expect he will pick up quickly. He might be dog selective, but also eager to play with other dogs in the shelter. Not cat tested, has shown improvement in kennel training (potty use in kennel, specifically)

Ok facebook family. We need help finding this sweet girl a new home.

This is Luna. She is a 3 year old 70lb purebred German Shepherd with bloodline papers and her parents were hip screened though the owner doesn’t have any paperwork to show for it. She has a very high prey and ball drive, and has lots of energy. She is extremely sweet with people and can warm up to other dogs, though she does have some resource guarding tendencies with other dogs. She is pretty good around children, but not great with cats. She learns really fast and can be trained easily. She currently knows sit, stay, down, side (heel) legs (middle heel), get back, out (drop), up (onto platform or into car), off (get off) and leave it. “OK” is her release word for when she waits for before she eats, comes out of a stay, or goes out the door. Luna is spayed and is current on all her vaccines. She has no health issues and had a vet check up in the last 30 days.

Ok Warriors K9 family, we need your help. This sweet girl Millie is a stray who our friend found and has been caring for. She is sweet, friendly with people and other dogs, and comes when she is called. She is currently getting medical treatment for an injury and then she needs a forever home. Seeking foster or adoptive parents for ChiChi, a three-year old female Taiwanese Formosan Mountain Dog. The owners have moved abroad and unable to bring her with them. Chichi is spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She loves to run fast and fetch sticks, is high-energy, attentive and very loyal. She is definitely a "one-dog" family, as she will become territorial with other dogs (or cats and other animals). She would be happy as an indoor dog, as long as the owner can take her out for daily walks/runs. She tends to be defensive-aggressive around non-family members. She has twice bitten other dogs but not bitten a person. Would make an ideal companion for a single person or couple who enjoy a dog that wants to jump, romp, run, and play, and desires a human-focused dog.

Hey Facebook family. These two dogs are currently at the Watauga Humane Society looking for their forever homes.

Lee Loo is the white dog. She is a 4 year-old german shepherd mix who has been spayed. She can be skiddish when meeting new people, but has really opened up since being at the Watauga Humane Society.

Rin Tin Tin is the black dog. She is a 7 month-old german shepherd mix who has been spayed. She is your typical german shepherd puppy that is just in need of some training.

Hey Facebook family. This sweet boy is looking for his forever home. This is Zeus. He is a 2-3 year old Belgian Malinois. He is extremely sweet with people and was also sweet with our son. He has not shown any aggression towards other dogs while at the Watauga Humane Society. Please remember this is a high energy breed that needs a lot of attention and love.
