This past weekend, our Fetch team had the joy of sponsoring GoldenFest, an incredible event supporting the Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida. 🐾✨

We loved spending the day meeting so many sweet pups and catching up with a handful of our past and current patients. Seeing those familiar faces (and wagging tails!) reminded us exactly why we love what we do. ♥️🐶

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, said hello, asked questions, or shared a hug with their pup. Your support helps make events like this so special, and we’re grateful to be part of such a dedicated pet-loving community! ✨

💛 Meet Kelso, a brave, tail-wagging 2-year-old Golden Retriever who’s been visiting our team in Bonita Springs for regular check-ups as he works through Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia (ITP).

ITP is a condition where the immune system accidentally destroys the body’s platelets (the tiny cells that help blood clot). With fewer platelets, pets can bruise or bleed more easily.

It can sound scary, but with close monitoring and the right care plan, many dogs like Kelso go on to live happy, full lives!

What pet parents should watch for:
🔴 Unexplained bruising or small red dots on the skin or gums
🩸 Nosebleeds or bleeding from the mouth
🚨 Blood in urine or stool
😴 Lethargy or weakness
⚪️ Pale gums

If you ever notice unusual bruising, bleeding, or sudden changes in your pet’s energy, don’t wait — our Bonita Springs and Fort Myers teams are here for you.
📞 Fort Myers: (239) 667-7066
📞 Bonita Springs: (239) 758-0961

Thanks to his routine visits with Dr. Vasilopulos, Kelso has been making steady progress. His big Golden smile ✨inspires✨ our team every time he walks through the door.

💛 Gordon is one tough pup. This sweet guy has been working closely with our Internal Medicine team to manage chronic tummy troubles.

This week, Gordon came in for an upper and lower GI scope so our doctors could get a clearer picture of what’s going on inside. His colon looked healthy on camera, and while his stomach lining appeared slightly thickened, we took biopsies from several areas to help guide the next steps. He handled anesthesia like a champ and headed home the same day for a cozy recovery!

At Fetch, every pet’s journey is unique and we’re here to create personalized, thoughtful care plans guided by our team of board-certified specialists. Your pets are family, and we’re honored to support their long-term health and happiness every step of the way. 🐾

🐾 Meet Pippin! 🐾
This big handsome boy visited us here in SWFL after his family noticed he was having trouble going potty. Poor Pippin was dealing with a feline urinary obstruction (UO) — a blockage in the urethra that prevents urine from passing normally. This condition most commonly affects male cats and can become life-threatening within hours if untreated.

Thanks to our amazing medical team and the care of Dr. Rathke, Pippin received prompt treatment, started feeling much more comfortable, and was soon back to eating and being his sweet self. We’re happy to share that Pippin has been picked up by his people and is on the road to recovery! 🐱✨

A urinary obstruction often starts subtly, so knowing the signs can make all the difference. Pet parents should watch for:
✨ Frequent trips to the litter box with little or no urine
✨ Straining or crying while trying to urinate
✨ Blood in the urine
✨ Licking the ge***al area
✨ Restlessness, hiding, or sudden irritability
✨ Vomiting or loss of appetite
✨ A firm, painful belly

If your cat ever shows signs of straining or difficulty urinating, it’s always safest to seek immediate care — urinary obstructions can worsen quickly.
