Donetta Contreras lives in Southwest Florida with her family and three dogs, Rudy, Cody and Snickers. She grew up in Tennessee earning a degree in Behavioral Psychology. Her mother, a tailor, taught her the importance of a strong work ethic and encouraged her to sew. However, after college, Donetta owned and operated a large commercial cleaning company as she found she had no real interest in sewi
ng. After retirement, Donetta’s focus became her children and her beloved pets. Taking three dogs on long walks soon proved to be problematic. While two of the three had similar stamina, one tired easily. To rectify the problem, Donetta purchased an over the shoulder pet carrier only to find it choked the dog, rendering it useless. In April of 2013, Donetta’s mother became ill and passed away. Never had such a feeling been present. She sat down, sketched a design for a shoulder dog carrier that would not choke her dog, and began. She has not stopped since. She now owns and operates , where she proudly makes to order her Pawz Purse™ as well as pants, vests and hats, to name a few. She considers Fashion & Functionality critical and credits her mom with her new found talent.
