Wondering why we charge what we charge for a 5mo Chicken? Roo or hen. It costs on average $75-$100 to feed, house, and raise each chick. Selling chickens at 5mo we don't make a profit at all, so the next time you see a $75 chicken and think it's too much remember that farmer isn't even paying themselves minimum wage for their time, love, and dedication. We would have to sell each 5mo chicken for $150 or more just to pay ourselves $3hr for the care it takes to raise them for those 5 months. That would still only cover 25 hours of our time, love, and care.

These are the facts, and people who buy chickens and don't farm need to understand the value of their chickens.
