Great explanation on why not all chicken in pet food is equal.

Chicken can be viewed somewhat negatively in this industry because of its association with allergies and intolerances. While it is undeniable that factory farmed chicken, raised in disgusting and filthy conditions, contributes to inflammatory issues, it is also true that not all chicken is factory farmed chicken.

Chickens raised outside, who have space to explore and exercise, who are not reliant on antibiotics and steroids, who eat bugs and non-GMO, organic, corn/soy free feed, whose living quarters are clean and well maintained - do not contribute to inflammation, allergies, or intolerances in the same way that their factory farmed counterparts do.

"Sourcing matters" feels cliche to say these days because so many people, no matter what their sourcing is, say it. Similarly to phrases like "highest quality" and "only the finest ingredients", this flippancy of use dilutes meaning to the point of near-uselessness. However, no matter what someone's sourcing is, it does matter, never more obviously than in the case of chicken.

Chicken Recipe for Dogs and Chicken For Cats use GAP rated, organic, non-GMO, pasture raised chickens. Due both to our incredible recipes and our incredible sourcing, our chicken recipes do not trigger chicken allergies or intolerances in the same way that other chicken recipes can.
