Other groomers are seeing this as a big issue. We will be updating our policy, unfortunately because we find it necessary.

When a client shows up more than 15 minutes late, it’s not just a little delay. It throws off your whole day. You lose the time you planned to groom safely, calmly, and with focus.
We use sharp tools on moving dogs. That means we need rhythm, regulation, and space to do our job right. When we’re rushed, we feel it. And so do the dogs.
They pick up on everything, our energy, our stress, the pressure to “make up time.” And that’s when they get squirmy or reactive. That’s when mistakes happen. That’s when things stop being safe.

This is even more of a problem around the holidays. If someone’s late, we might assume they’re not coming and shift the day. We might call a client to come early or pull from the waitlist. Then that late client shows up and expects to still be groomed and now the whole schedule is off. The pressure snowballs fast.

That’s why this clause matters. And honestly? It does more than just protect your time. It helps bring in better clients.

It filters out the shop-hoppers. It draws in people who value consistency. People who understand that the bond we build with dogs matters. That the safety structure matters. That this is more than just a haircut, it’s trust, timing, and care.
